Tail gate gas tube is very weak and allows tailgate to drop till the last few inches, then tries to buffer last bit of drop. Hood kit had to be removed as it was going to damage the hood, plastic cowl and washer fluid bottle neck. Ordered on black Friday with truck arriving this last week. Now past return timeline. Needs redesigned hood brackets and fender mount brackets. The only positive thing was it did hold the hood up. Would not recommend this product at this time. Money wasted. and I have purchased several Mabett Items for the Maverick.

I recently installed the Mabett Hood Lift Support Shock Struts and Tailgate Damper on my 2022 Ford Maverick, and while the process took a bit longer than expected, I'm pleased with the result overall.The installation was trickier than I anticipated. I wasn’t entirely sure about the exact tools needed at first, so that slowed me down. Also, as others have noted, the strut on the passenger side is pretty close to the washer fluid reservoir, and I’m hoping this won’t lead to issues later.The tailgate damper part was more straightforward, and the instructions included were clear and very helpful. My only challenge was getting the original bolts off the Maverick, which required some effort. The strut on the tailgate isn’t as strong as I might have liked, but it gets the job done adequately.Overall, I’d definitely recommend this to other Maverick owners who don’t already have these installed. It’s a solid upgrade, especially once you’ve got it all set up!

My Daughter saw my tail gate assist and said she'd love one for her Maverick. I was looking around and found this set which is a bundle of the hood struts and tail gate assist. I wanted the hood struts myself so this was a perfect set to buy. I've installed the hood struts today. Install is super easy and this set works perfect. The hood opens and closes and it's great not to have to mess around with the hood prop rod any more! The instructions suggested a piece of foam to protect the wiper fluid tube by the passenger side bracket. I opted with a black cable tie instead as seen in the image. That's keeping the wiper fluid tube clear of the hood struts when opening and closing the hood.I had a look at the tail gate damper and it's also great quality. My Daughter will be very happy when she gets it soon as a Christmas gift.Everything is powder coated so should not rust for a very long time, if at all. I highly recommend this set.

I can appreciate that in trying to keep the price of the Maverick low Ford skipped on many of the frills that are common in more expensive vehicles. I have sent a lot of time under my hood wiring a number of accessories and modifications. As a result one of the items I missed is a set of hood struts to assist in lifting the hood and holding it securely once open. I’m thankful Mabett has released their answer to my wish. Their reasonably priced lift support struts come with clear installation instructions. I initially had challenges with the installation. The hood did not align at first as I expected. I chose to reinstall the brackets paying strict attention to bolting the hinges and attached brackets in the same location as when it came out of the factory. Pay close attention to the unpainted area under the bolt heads to accomplish that task. The result is worth the effort. Thanks Mabett.
