Bought for 2017 Toyota Highlander. Original lift started making an awful noise. We tried all types of lubricants, but nothing worked. We ordered these. They were easy to install and worked perfectly.

Toyota Highlander XLE 2015 (6 Non JBL Speaker system, no speakers on hatch area with struts). Easy to replace, exact fit, just remember to support the hatch - see YouTube videos for reference if needed. I can't believe I paid $105 for the 2 Struts vs $1,350 (parts and labor from the dealer). They are working great as a replacement.

Updated Review (Sept 2024):Well, the units stopped working after 10 months. They have a 12 month warranty, so I messaged the seller via amazon a couple of times. But the seller has not responded. It's a shame, because I thought I'd found a decent solution. But I'm not sure I want to spend $170 annually to keep my lift gate hatch working. The seller never responded or honored the warranty.Original Review (Nov 2023):The dealership wanted $900 for parts and $1800 for the install! So we bypassed the repair for years and just used the glass window to pass things into the cargo area. Finally, I came across a Youtube video that shows that this replacement is a FOUR BOLT PROCESS! That's $1800 of labor at the dealership??!!?! Geez. No wonder some people call it the "stealership".I ordered the parts and had them installed in 2-3 hours. The time taken was mostly a function of my white-collar background. I used an a-frame ladder to hold up the gate while working. Also, I recommend bolting the brackets to the car first, THEN snapping in the ball joints. As for the final result: Things are looking great. Now that we have our liftgate back, we are using the car more for grocery runs and other trips that we'd had to use our other car for. There have been slight hiccups. About 10% of the time, it will close most of the way but stop closing with 4-6 inches left. Probably a dirty sensor or the cold or something. But we just hear the long beep, walk back there, and push it closed. (These non-OEM parts hold the gate well, but also are slightly easier to manually close than the original factory ones.)At the beginning, I was extremely happy with this purchase. Will update as things progress.
