This hub has a large variety of ports so even a crazy USB addict should be not be lacking for raw port #s.However NOTE that of the 5 USB A ports.. 4 of them are USB 2.0 only! Given the fact that USB 3 is now quite old having any USB 2 only ports in a big mistake IMO.. esp given that they are backwards compatible. The USB C ports and one USB A are USB 3.0 only.. so max 5GbpsAll ports were tested with various items from external HDDs to ancient mice.. they all worked butthe hub is bottlenecked if you are trying to use multiple higher speed drives etc..The case being aluminum and not flimsy plastic was nice and the addition of a captive adapter on it is nice touch none the less and is something that can be very handy and is often overlooked. You need to also note that the cable is NOT a separate cable sadly.. and is only about 6 inches long... That combined with over half of the ports being USB 2.. and its over priced IMO. It would be ok on sale.. for someone needing to use it as a docking station on a tablet etc.. for a keyboard / mouse / printer.. but for higher speed work or higher power device use.. look elsewhere.

I got this hub for an older desktop computer that doesn't have a USB-C port on it. I needed to expand with more ports, but most hubs nowadays only have USB-C cables on them. I love that this hub comes with an attached adapter for use on either. I tried it out with my newer computer as well, attaching some external hard drives to it, and got some pretty decent file transfer speeds - suitable for connecting a backup drive.I've tried the hub with multiple peripherals and charging various devices, and everything is working just fine.

I have been looking for a usb hub for my laptop for a while now. I have a pretty dated device, so it only has usb-a ports. Most of the hubs that I have seen only came with an usb-c connector. This 2 in 1 connector in this unit allows me to use it with my old device, while also when I eventually replace my system. The device has a solid aluminum construction. It feels very robust, and lightweight. The casing looks nice with the blue wrap around design. I like the corrugated part at the top, offering a unique texture and element to the design. This corrugation is only on one side though, so depending on the orientation of your workstation, this may need to be placed upside down and cause it to be hidden from view.On the corrugated part of the casing are also labels for each of the ports. As is, it is very difficult to see the text, unless you are viewing it directly from above. The white letters get jumbled up and distorted with the undulations. The good thing is that the labelling isn't really necessary, as it is not difficult to differentiate between usb-a and usb-c ports. I think it might as well not be labelled at all and just provide a cleaner appearance. With 7 total ports, this is very useful, as it allows me to plug more auxiliary items and devices to my laptop. My laptop was able to read any device that was plugged into the hub quickly, and I did not experience any issues with their connectivity. Though it would have been nice if it had a sd card or micro sd card slot, similar to what I have seen some others have. I guess I just have to rely on an adapter for those items for the time being.Overall I am happy with this device. It looks decent, and is working as expected.Five Stars.

All port work as advertised. Not sure about the 'charging' port or which one it actually is, but I'll figure it out. It has expanded my USB capability on a new laptop.
