This tp-link router is extremely flexible and easy to use. All the ports are clearly labeled. The industrial design is sleek and modern. It fits right in. The build quality is top notch. I am very happy with the speed that it gives me. It is a very attractive model with lots of features. However, the thing I like best about it is that it works very well. It takes care of itself and gives me excellent service

This simple TP-Link USB hub did what multiple +$200 and $300 docks could not. I've been testing a few as I have moved my pc about 10 ft from my desk, and this TP-Link hub allows my keyboard to access the bios at boot, and my mouse also works pre-boot in the bios. The speed is only 5gbps, but I'm using it with an Amazon basics 10ft extension cable and its working nicely. No latency, I even yanked on the USB port on the back of it, and broke the cable, but the hub still works (I am using a HDD cable, same micro USB type B connector). Would love an updated version of this with USB C and 10gbps.

Like the title says, you have to appreciate what a high speed USB 3 hub does. It itself contains a chip, like a mini computer, really, that has to work very fast. So fast, that it's not possible with very cheap chips. This is why USB 3 hubs aren't like 10 bucks.I've had many USB 3 hubs, and I've always tried to be frugal and go for cheap, and nearly all of them had trouble. Drives would spontaneously dismount, drives would generate files system errors, etc.A well know Orico one I expected to work well, but no, with that one too, on a Macbook pro, the drive would spontaneously unmount right during a copy operation. And yes that was a powered one. Tried 3 power supplies. Changed cables. Didn't fix it.Now, TP-Link is an odd brand, but it's generally solid. I have had many routers and switches from TP-Link and it's mostly been good. I then spotted that TP-Link has this hub. I wanted to "save" money and wanted to find one that's 1/2 or 2/3 of the cost, but I got fed up with crappy hubs. The reviews were good, and I saw how DELL opted to stock that one.Saw it on Amazon and went for it. Ah, finally a good hub, powered, that works good! Right away, I was able to make those backups between a couple of large drives. Goes true USB 3 speed and not a single hiccup. So it's good!

I have now bought 2 of these and love both of them. They're simple and effective and have had 0 issues in my use. I have tried other powered usb hubs that have been hit and miss with specific devices, this one has had no such issues. Both are fully loaded with multiple devices that require full power from a USB (lights, stream decks, shifters, handbrake, mouse, keyboard, etc.) And they absolutely do the job. Having lights for each active item is great too and the overall single power button let's me shut down my rig completely when not in use very quickly.Great product would recommend 11/10

It has individual LED indicators, has a single button which turns off all USB ports at once, product has an external power input, with a very good sized power cord. The quality of the materials used in the manufacturing is very good, the power button and connections are very well finished, the product is beautiful, does not heat up and fulfills its function without loss of data transfer. I recommend the purchase, the product is from a good brand, which makes you believe that the internal materials are also of good quality. The product actually transfers data like a USB 3.0 port should.

Slight negatives first: my opinion is that the length of the power adapter cord is too short. It should, at minimum, be as long as the usb cable that goes to the computer. It's not uncommon for most people to have their AC outlets at their feet and want to place the hub on the desk which will obviously be elevated above the outlet. This makes it a little difficult if you don't have a wall outlet nearby. Slight miscalculation by TP-Link on that aspect imo.In any case, it works great as a USB hub. The charging ports do work for my phone well. This is a great way to organize the plethora of USB devices I have plugged in my computer including but not limited to - webcam, keyboard, mouse, external hard drive, thumb drive, etc. The usb lighting above each port to indicate a device is plugged in is a very nice touch. And I've tested that I was able to max out the USB3 port speeds that the hub was plugged into. What's not to like?

I used this at a customer site and was so impressed I bought some for myself. I know it sounds ridiculous when talking about USB hubs but it's the little things that make it a pleasure to use: It sits nice and flat on the desk and doesn't "pull". its LED indicators don't blind you. You can disconnect everything from the computer at once with power switch. The hub works (at reduced power capability) even if you don't use the separate power adapter. The port orientation allows you to see/use the devices you plug in "flat" (parallel to the table) -- this is either a win or a lose depending your specific devices/application. It will happily power or charge devices without the computer connected. The power adapter is reasonable (24W) and the supplied upstream cable is a reasonable length (3').This switch does not have MTT, which means that even though your uplink is USB 3.0 SS, you can't use that high bandwidth to get more than 480mbps total when using multiple 480mbps 2.0HS devices. (i.e. the SS bandwidth is for SS devices only, and everything else competes over the 480mbps HS bandwidth.) This isn't a problem for most people, and isn't for me in this application, but I have MTT capable hubs for when I need that feature.
