I used the same brand of SIM card last year when I traveled to China. Activation was easy and fast, and I had a smooth connection throughout my stay. I prefer using a physical SIM card over an eSIM because I sometimes need to switch phones, and the physical card is more convenient for that. I was able to use Google Translate, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and other apps without any issues. I also visited Thailand last year, and surprisingly, the card worked there too. I plan to use the same brand again for my upcoming trip to China—it’s reliable and convenient!

This eSIM works as expected—I tested it while traveling in China. Activation is simple: just scan the QR code provided on the printed card to install it. The data connection is reliable; however, keep in mind that some apps commonly used in North America may not work while in China due to local restrictions. Still, the data itself functions properly.Overall, this is a solid 4-star product. It works well, but the price could be a bit more competitive compared to other international eSIM options.

Roaming is very expensive. travSIM China SIM card is an affordable solution to travellers using wireless data in China.I plan to visit China in summer this year so I order this travSIM SIM card with 15GB of 4G/5G data and valid for 30 days. Although it is a data only SIM card, I can use it for internet browser, VoIP apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook, WeChat, etc.I order a physical SIM card instead of an eSIM because not all smartphones work with eSIM.There is no detailed instructions coming with the SIM card. Instead, one needs to visit travsim.com to activate the card or schedule an activation date. It is strange to me that the cellphone information (EID, IMEI) is required. I think a physical SIM card should be able to be used in any smartphone.

eSIM order came in within two days. Followed instruction to scan QR code. It will take you to the travsim website for registration and schedule for activate/deactivate dates. QR code for installation will be emailed on your chosen day to your email. Does not authenticate personal information, nor require any personal identification document. Data only without any voice call minutes. No more expensive roaming charges and flexible date options for short term visits. It’s crucial to stay online during your travels in Asia for booking accommodations or calling a cab. There are many services that only accept digital payments. Highly recommend eSIM options.*Pricing on Amazon is about 10% cheaper compared to the company’s website.

Brand new, arrived in a sealed envelope.Come with instructions to activate it before use.Fairly easy to set up.But it’s a data package only. And I find it too expensive @52.99 for 15GB, 30-day usage (no discount, 2025-06-09).Not worth it, there are cheaper options for voice & data available at the airports!

This SIM card works decently for long trips to China, though it requires some preparation to use smoothly. The most important thing is to activate it before arrival, as China's strict internet controls often cause activation issues if you wait until landing. If you do run into problems, their WhatsApp customer service is quite responsive and usually replies quickly to help troubleshoot. The 10GB data allowance lasts for 30 days, which is sufficient for basic browsing, maps, and social media. However, keep in mind this is data-only with no call or SMS functionality.
