Suburban's 6 Gallon Advantage RV Water Heaters replace aluminum tank water heaters. Constructed with porcelain lined steel tank. Built just like longer lasting residential tank water heaters. Anode rod protects against tank corrosion and doubles as a drain. Take advantage of campsite or generator power to heat water with the optional Incoloy Electric Element tank accessory. Industry exclusive flue tube slows combustion process to transfer more heat to water in tank. *For most aluminum tank “DE” model replacements utilizing an indoor mounted switch for LP gas ignition and electric element operation, the SAW6DEL Advantage Water Heater is the direct replacement model. Gas appliances should be installed and/or serviced by a qualified service technician. Backed by a 2 year limited warranty and the tank is backed by a 3 year tank limited warranty.

Installation went mostly smoothly, but new gas line was 'fun' lining up. The T for me is behind drawers, but that is just my setup. My only concern was it is pictured with a door, all the pictures show a door, the box shows a door. There is no door included. Would be helpful to have a note. I ordered one as soon as I could, but it will arrive a couple hours after I have to leave on Tuesday.

I bought this water heater to replace my 10 gallon 23 year old water heater. It performs very well and I think too well. The water gets extremely hot and there is no adjustment. Why can’t they have an adjustable thermostat like a home heater? It also builds pressure and drips out the safety valve and although they say that is perfectly normal it is annoying. Overall I am satisfied with the purchase.

Don't buy. Tank failed. It is rotting my trailer frame. In less than 3 yrs tank failed. Original aluminum tank lasted almost 20yrs. This is a big disappointment. I guess I will be installing a conventional water heater or connecting to the nearby house hot water. I live in this trailer, so it is a big deal. Also burner has always been a problem. It usually fails to ignite and you have turn it on and back off. If only tries to start once then you have to manually reset. Most of these will try 3 times before quitting but this one only once.

It’s a Suburban, so I know that it’s gonna last a long time and I’ve got a great product. The company has been around for many years for a reason. Perfect fit, and color match. Was super easy to install. Only problem is it didn’t come with the door so I contacted the seller and they sent one to me immediately so great customer service and prompt delivery.

A near exact replacement for the original Atwood. Wiring a bit different (one less wire whose function is not well defined) which led to some consternation as the condition is not explained but does not seem to effect operation. Tank insulation is not nearly as good as the original being cardboard covers fiberglass in place of formed foam. Although ignition spark is working we have yet to get gas solenoid to open so only electric heating working.

Only thing I would improve upon is better instructions. I have never changed hot water tanks and I didn’t find the instructions very clear on certain points.

The box arrived intact but had evidence of being opened and re-taped shut. Opened it up and one of the corners was dented. Not a huge deal as I was able to bend it back, just annoying. Installed the unit and noticed the grommet to protect the gas line was missing. Guessing they scabbed it out of the unit at some point and put it on Amazon to get out of their inventory. Got the unit hooked up and it worked well. Overall it was a direct aftermarket replacement for my Atwood G6A-8E that required no modifications to install on my 2001 Travelaire.
