Excellent equipment and value for money. If you know how what are you doing it is easy of setup. I used to connect add industrial scales with RS485 output to my Ethernet network and it is very stable. As for everything, i had to research over the web a little before to decide to buy.

The good part is that the USR-W630 can be a client, a server or both at the same time, it can act like a router and assign IPs via DHCP, and can be configured to work in almost any situation to make Modbus devices communicate with other network clients.The bad part is that the setup is confusing with many entires having the same name, but serving different purposes. This is all made worse by the online setup process. You change a field, click Apply, then restart and the field is unchanged. This happened a lot. Sometimes, the field would appear unchanged, but act like it was changed. For example, I changed the IP address, restarted, and the default IP was still there, but I was accessing the device with the new IP.There is a manual, but it's not much help. I had to tinker with it, changing setting over and over again until it started to work.Expect to spend some time with it to get the function you want.

I honestly cannot provide a valid technical review of the product. It appears to offer a lot of functionality in a very compact package but I was never able to get it completely working. At the point I left off, the product was competing against my existing wifi router and was wreaking having with all of my devices because it was trying to assign DHCP addresses even though I had turned that function off. I've seen some bad product manuals in my day but this was Top 3 worst in my experience. Make sure you download the manual before you purchase so that you see what you'll be getting into. Horrific translation from Chinese to English and jumps all over the place. Might be a really good product if they'd invest in getting a proper manual translation. Returning. Don't have the man-days available to try and figure it out.
