In the summer of 1965 on Bainbridge Island Washington three friends Joel Pritchard, William Bell and Barney McCallum invented the game of Pickleball to entertain their families. The sport quickly caught on and Barney McCallum began making wood paddles in his basement to supply local players. Shortly thereafter he incorporated Pickle-Ball, Inc. and we've been leading the industry in manufacturing and supplying quality pickleball paddles, balls and nets ever since.
While we no longer build paddles in the basement we stay dedicated to the sport and its players. As part of our effort to support players and the growth of the sport we've worked closely with the USA Pickleball Associated to donate thousands of paddles and nets to groups all over the country and continue to do so. We also work with tournament directors to provide supplies and equipment free of charge to hundreds of pickleball tournaments each year.
Today we continue to build top quality pickleball equipment for all skill levels. The Dura Fast 40 pickleball has been the most used ball for competitive play for more than 20 years. The only ball ever used at the USAPA National Championship tournament and the Official Ball of the US Open Pickleball Tournament 2016, 2017 & 2018 the Dura pickleball is trusted by top players and is a high-performance outdoor ball with the play characteristics that players of all skill levels love.
DURA Outdoor Pickleballs also known as DURA Fast 40 Pickleballs are the original seamless plastic whiffle ball specially designed for pickleball by "the company that invented the game" Pickle-Ball, Inc. They are designed to perform well in outdoor conditions but can be used both indoors and outdoors.They have thick walls to increase the life span and playability of the ball in rough outdoor conditions.
The ball is made by injecting hot liquid plastic into a mold. The mold is closed and rotated multi-directionally to spread the plastic evenly around the walls of the mold creating a strong one piece ball. When the mold has stopped spinning it is opened and the new ball is removed from the mold. Sometimes there is a minor parting line from the seam of the mold, this is not a true seam and does not affect the play or durability of the ball. Look inside the ball and you will not see a seam.
Once the plastic has cooled and hardened 40 holes of two sizes are post-drilled into the ball. This patented hole configuration was engineered for strength as well as performance providing a ball that bounces and flies true even in outdoor conditions.
Weighing 0.92 ounces these balls fly straight even in windy conditions. The weight also makes them a fast ball, compared to the softer and lighter Jugs Indoor Pickleball or other injection molded balls. The ball measures 2.9375” in diameter. The ball has an average bounce height of 32”, promising lively response to every hit.

- BALL LIFE – Ball durability is affected by weather, play style and court surface. Anticipate ball life of 3-10 games under harsh conditions or in cold weather, longer in ideal conditions. Performance pickleballs do not last forever however testing indicates life of Dura pickleballs to be equivalent or longer than competing USAPA approved outdoor pickeballs.

Awesome product. They feel sturdier than the green ones, at least to me. They hold their own on windy days too. My dog doesn't like to retrieve tennis balls, but she was delighted when I brought out the bright orange Dura pickleballs. She ran and ran and brought every one of them back to me. I will be ordering more. Thank you.

Got these to use with the Champion Sports 15-inch paddle ball set, for use in our pool. Balls work well for in the pool. Very durable hard plastic. We have enjoyed playing paddleball with them, not pickle ball.

these balls were just as designed, however where i play there are a bunch of pre madonas that will not play with a orange ball

These are really sturdy balls that are not as effected by the wind as the Jugs brand, though I believe those are meant for indoor play. They can take a beating - I accidentally stepped on one while playing and thought I'd just have to chuck it, but the dented part actually reformed and it still works great. Definitely worth the price.
