Your cart is empty.The 71550 is our "manual style" A/C hose crimper. The die snaps quickly into place requiring no pins or screws. The unit can be easily mounted to a bench using the holding fixture or held securely in a vice. This kit comes with a complete set of dies covering standard hose sizes #6, #8, #10 and #12. Optional die sets available for reduced barrier type hoses.

I live rural and do not have ready access to an a/c shop to crimp custom hoses for my truck project. This crimp kit allows me to take my time and be fussy about "clocking" my hoses just right to the fittings before I crimp the ends. Once I got that figured out, it took less than 15 minutes to crimp the hoses you see in the picture.

crimped my hoses just like the factory would. Very easy to use. I had special Vernier Callipers to measure the crimp to Vintage air specs.

I have only crimped two fittings thus far, a #6 and a #10, but both worked perfectly. The fit and finish on the tool are high quality. Time will tell if the seal is good. It certainly looks perfect.I questioned, by email, a contradiction in the written vs the Youtube video instructions on the Mastercool web site and received an almost instant answer from the manager of Mastercool technical support. The written (PDF) instructions are correct, "Turn the arbor screw clockwise until the bottom of the yoke ram meets the finish line (approximately 1/8" from the bottom yoke)."The video instructions on their web site says, "tighten the arbor screw until the die comes to a complete stop," This is NOT correct. It can result in over tightening and damage the jaw where the pin on the little chain will be damaged and the part will no longer work.
