I live in a motorhome, and every time I put my Starlink outside, I had to run the cable through a window making an active track for ants to come in. I mounted this under the RV in an easy place to get to and ran the cable from inside motorhome to the box underneath and then a cable from the box out to the Starlink which worked really well. It looks fine. It functions well, good quality and easy to install. It had a seal around it to keep the water out, so it was very durable. It was a good value for the money.

Purchased this to install outside data cable for security cam. There is a big design flaw in this. The inside cable connection is at a 90 degree turn just inside the back of the cover wall plate. If you are installing this in a exterior wall or soffit there will be at least about 1 inch or more of siding or sub siding or soffit. There is no way to connect the data cable to the female end on plate. It needs to be straight out the back or at the very least couple of inches long past the back side of the cover plate if at a 90 degree connection. I have returned my purchase of these.

Looking for a robust outdoor ethernet wall plate, such as for low-voltage wiring of PoE cameras for example? Then you should seriously consider purchasing this device. That said, make sure you are aware of its constraints, and consider cheaper alternatives as this is by far the most expensive solution I've found on Amazon. Is it worth it? That depends on your needs. If it will meet them, then I would say yes.Pros: Metal faceplate, includes gasket, IP6x water tight (not waterproof), supports shielded ethernet cables, compatible with standard glands (makes it possible to connect these to standard electrical conduit).Cons: Interior connector is angled 90 degrees, expensive. My biggest concern with this device is the angled connector on the inside. Considering the fact it is a single gang size, unless you are placing this on the front of a deep junction box, managing to connect an RJ45 connector inside the junction box is challenging. If your cable has a strain relief boot, you will find it especially challenging and may need to remove the boot in order to avoid crimping the cable. This problem is worse with CAT6 and higher cables, as they tend to be stiffer.Overall, it is an excellent and well designed product.

This Item is of good quality. It has a micro electronic connecting circuit. I Imagine is to use some of the Power from the RJ45 POE to strengthen the signal as it passes through adapter. I have not noticed any signal degradation. It comes with a mating connector so that it stays completely waterproof when you connect the pass through RJ45 jack
