We used these for our cub scouts (1st to 4th grade). The fin install was a little difficult for them and required adult help. Otherwise they did well and the boys loved them.

We bought 2 boxes of these for a Cub Scout rocket event. The boys and parents got it put together in about 10 minutes. It's all plastic and these rockets are absolutely amazing and practically indestructible! We launched over 40 rockets in 2 hours, twice each without a single body breaking (over 80 launches). We had more than one not deploy and came straight down and embed itself in the ground a good 3 inches and still didn't break. There is no parachute and this is a good thing, it doesn't need one. We launched on a very windy day (lost 2 regular rockets that had parachutes they traveled so far into trees). These rockets go straight up, deploy, and fall down within 25 yards or so. No parachute is less to pack into the body as well, great for beginners and those at a large event needing to move quickly. It uses A class engines, and don't let the size fool you, we were floored on how fast and how high these rockets went. Using an A10-3T they just scream. Amazing little rockets and you can just launch them again and again. If you need a bulk pack of rockets for a scouting or otherwise event this is it. One word of advice to new rocketeers, when you push the button to fire the rocket push it and keep it pushed. Could take a few seconds to ignite, we replaced a lot of starters not knowing that.

We have used these several years in a row for our cub scout pack. The hardest part of these rockets is getting the kids to follow the directions. As long as the kids put everything together in the right order, they are very easy to put together. Even if the kids mix up the steps, it is usually easy enough to take it back apart and try again. If you want to put the rocket together and launch it in one session, this is the rocket you want.

I got these rockets for a cub scout camp for the kids to build. They sounded like a good option because of the snap together. Should have gone with something else.Pros:-Fairly cheap, we sold them in our camp store for $12-Launched really well, they are on the heavy side so they didn't go too high which was great because then we didn't have to worry about any of the kids loosing their rockets in the trees.Cons:-Snap Together was way too hard for the kids. This was the selling point for us at the camp. Not only is the snap together a bit too complex and finicky (the fins were a pain in the butt and had to be glued on anyway otherwise they would fall off and get lost) but the pins were simply too difficult to push together and the kids (7-11yrs) and we ended up having to have the 2 staff run the event have to essentially assemble all of the kits themselves. If you are looking for a better kit I would recommend the Gnome kits (which only require a bit of super glue).-The decal sticker was also hard to put on as it is a giant rectangular sticker that wraps all the way around the rocket and if the kids put it on wrong it would interfere with where the rod goes.TLDR: Go with a different model

The rockets were easy for our tiger cub den to snap together and launch in an evening. Be careful not to stuff the nose cone too tight or it will not open and slow the descent.
