Tot twee maal toe een WD100EFAX besteld, echter de 101 (WD101EFAX) geleverd. Qua capaciteit gelijk, echter veel meer geluid omdat helium vulling ontbreekt. Beide retour gezonden.

These WD RED drives are fantastic and very reliable. I still have 4 drives in my Synology 411+II. 2Gb each. I bought them back in 2002. Been running non-stop since. I am impressed! What does not impress me is how I cannot buy 4xWD RED 3TB from Amazon all at the same time. You have to buy one each week. If I buy a Synology 1819+, I cannot buy 8 WD RED drives. I would have to buy them over an 8 week period. This is plain stupid as these are NAS drives. Most customers would like to buy multiple drives to populate their NAS. Disappointing.

I grabbed this to replace one of four drives in an older ZFS1 volume. These drives have been running solid for a few years now and one has a cam error. Something to do with power management and I don’t think it’s serious. I have replaced the drive anyway as I only have one failover in zfs1. Not the best value tB per dollar but I thought I should replace it now while I can still get smaller capacity drives. More value in the 4 and 6 tB drives currently but these last and perform well in 24/7 use. I highly recommend WD red.

Decent performance, and price. You might get better performance at the same price point from other competitors, however the reliability of these WD Red will most likely be better. Since used in a NAS the performance tends to be the network rather than the disk, I'd say their reliability is more important than performance here. They will also run cooler and quieter than a faster competitor's product.

The drive i'm using is a WD Red 3TB NAS 5400 RPM WD30EFRX.It performs similar to a 3TB WD Blue 5400rpm dirve I have. As far as I can tell the warranty is the only thing different and the marketing branding they put on the red drives for "NAS" usage. If I had more RAID ports on my motherboard i'd likely be running two of these but the data I have on it isn't change often so backups are good enough for it.I prefer the 5400rpms because i don't need the extra speed and want maximum durability and minimum heat and power usage.Nothing more to say, the thing is silent, no clicks, no weird noises and been working great just as my similar WD Blue drives of the same size and speed. Can't say the same about Seagate drives, most of the seagates i own click and sound like they are dying the second I start using them.

I’ve purchased 3 of these 8TB drives for my Synology NAS and so far they are working like a charm.I’ve had no sign of the noise and DOA issues that others have mentioned.I have to admit to chuckling at some of the one star ratings. For goodness sake, the disk being resposible for corrupting the PC’s BIOS; I think the PC needs to be taken away from these people before they blame it for Brexit as well! 😜

I've had very good luck with WD Red drives over the years in terms of reliability.I've currently got 6 x 4TB (4 of which are in a RAID 5 array), 2 x 8TB, and 2 x 10TB. I've had a number of 2TB drives as well. All have performed very well.- Very reliable drives- Low power consumption- Operates at low temperatures- Quiet operationDrive comparison:10TB: 256MB cache, 210 MB/s sequential performance*8TB: 128MB cache, 178 MB/s sequential performance6TB: 64MB cache, 175 MB/s sequential performance1-4TB: 64MB cache, ~150 MB/s sequential performance*The 8TB sold here (model WD80EFZX) has a 128MB cache, but it's worth noting that there's other versions of this drive (models WD80EFAX and WD80EMAZ) which have a 256MB cache. The 8TB/10TB models use a sealed helium chamber to reduce platter friction — HGST developed the technology for their expensive enterprise drives and WD acquired this technology when they purchased HGST. WD has now implemented it in the consumer space relatively unchanged but at roughly a fifth of the cost.(I've had a number of Seagate drives in the past as well but I'll never buy another Seagate product as most of my Seagate drives failed rather miserably, including 2 in a RAID 5 array which failed almost simultaneously, resulting in the loss of a lot of important data. A couple of years ago Backblaze noted that their Seagate drives had a 73.5% survival rate over 36 months, with a burst of deaths near the 20 month mark. Their WD drives had a 94.8% survival rate over the same period — i.e. the WD drives were 5x less likely to fail within the first 3 years when compared to Seagate.)My biggest gripe is actually unrelated to the product itself but with Amazon's limit of 1 drive per customer — this really makes no sense for NAS drives seeing as most people will need 2-4 of them. To use an audio analogy, this would be like having a limit of 1 speaker or 1 DJ turntable per customer... pretty silly.(EDIT: I can confirm that you're able to reorder after exactly 7 days.)While not specific to this drive, I strongly recommend doing an 'Extended Scan' on all new HDDs you purchase to check for bad sectors before using them (whether WD, Seagate or otherwise.) It takes a bit of time but well worth it. If you find any bad sectors you can do an RMA before entrusting it with your data. For WD drives, you can use DLDIAG (Data Lifeguard Diagnostics) which you can download free from WD's website.

Bon disque dur.

I bought two of these for my Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials and they installed easily like any other hdd, and worked out of the box!I replaced a desktop rated HDD ... 1TB WD Black, which i repurposed on my other pc.During windows configuration I had ONE little "issue" ... which is actually more like a limitation on the partitioning table.Anyway, it was required for me to use GPT to thus enable me to use/see the full 3TB. This actually turned out to work better that way for me. As i then set my drives in a Dynamic and Mirrored(Raid 1) configuration. Once i did that, everything was A-OKAY!The drive performs exactly the same as my previous drive... actually better, as it powers/spins up much faster!so now i'm a happy camper that my data will now be safe on these reliable NAS designed drives!
