This is a great tool to save your hands if you hate squeezing caulk tubes by hand. The E-clip holding the hinge pin in place was loose in the box when mine arrived, but otherwise this is the perfect tool for my application.

I got this for a project that required multiple tubes of contact cement glue. The last similar project I used my hands and was barley able to squeeze the tube by hand due to the small opening required for the project. I took this out of the box and noticed it is 100% steel, no plastic (well built). I have to admit I wasn't so sure it would work or how it worked. after flipping it around several times (comes with instructions) I realized which end to put the tail of the tube into the jaws. Fast forward to my project it worked exceptionally better than trying to squeeze the tube by hand. By the fourth tube I was convinced it was a keeper. I have seen these for sale in some tool site and they are considerably more expensive. The price is reasonable the quality great and will be using it for mechanics projects that call for even coat of silicone as well.

tube slips constantly, makes it hard to get all of the product out, continually have to reset tube.
