Although the original heater was shorter, this item fit quite perfectly, need to check how much room is inside the tank. There's also a need to get the socket tool

Used this to replace a burnt out element in our SW6DEL water heater in our Outback trailer.The new one was about 3" longer than the original, but the diameter and threads were exact, and it fit perfectly.Worked perfectly once installed.Shipping speed was as advertised.The only reason it's 4 stars rather than 5 is because it was shipped in a cardboard box with 2" of the element end sticking out of it.It arrived undamaged, but easily could have been - should have been packed in an appropriately sized rectangular box.

Pulled the old one out. Threaded the new one in. Filled the heater. Hot water in 20 mins! Yayyyy

Works great. Perfect replacement for my RV water heater (SW6DE) made by Suburban. This item is actually a 520900. The original electric element 520789 has been replaced by Suburban with this one 520900. It is somewhat longer than original part but still fits my SW6DE. Same power. Item includes gasket. Easy to replace. Check youtube for tip to move the gas funnel partially out of the way. To remove the element, I first bought an impact socket but it didn't fit in the recess where the element is located. So I ended up buying a simple Camco tool made for that. The 5" tool was barely clearing the access panel door making it difficult to use the lever without hurting my hands. To get more leverage and to clear the access panel a bit better, I had to drill larger holes, a bit nearer the edge of the tool, so I could use a larger longer screwdriver as lever. Arrived poorly packaged in my opinion. This is a long hard item, in a thin plastic bag, simply dropped in a thin bubble envelop. Plastic bag had some tears and element had some minor surface scratches to the finish but fortunately nothing to affect operation or durability. In my opinion, it should have been protected better or shipped in box instead. But overall very happy with purchase.

I replaced a burnt out hot water tank element with this. It fits as expected and is easy to hook-up. Nothing related to this item but the nut at the top of the element (old and new) is 1 1/2" and is recessed so you need to buy a $20.00 special water heater element wrench to remove and install these elements. Still a lot cheaper than taking it to a service center.
