Searching for my hat, I was confused as to whether or not it was the same as the Stetson Airway also sold on Amazon - it is not. I will not go into specific details about construction because there is another post which very adequately provides that information. I was mainly concerned with quality - which hat is visibly better looking has the best 'quality' feel and a better fit? This hat costs more than the Airway (almost double the cost) so, is it worth it??? Well, to me it is. How do I know? I located a local vendor that sells the Airway, paid them a visit and compared the two. They are NOT the same hat and my Outback from Ultrafino is a much better product. But is it worth almost twice the Airway price? Again, to me it is. I guess everybody will have to deal with that themselves.

This Panama hat has just the right combination of features to please people like me: ample venting in the crown, tight weave in the brim--which is neither to wide nor too 'stingy', a head/chin strap to hold the hat on in a moderate breeze and a simple band for a bit of flare. A bonus with this style of Stetson panama is a light green/grey visor panel to cut down reflected glare. Light panamas without this feature do reflect more sunlight. The highest grade of panama are extra sturdy and tightly and evenly woven. They trap too much heat and moisture from my head to suit me, even as I admire their workmanship and elegance. This hat is also carefully and evenly woven...and it works much better as a summer 'topper."
