Before installation
Don't attempting to compress the struts before installing.
Please use a flathead screwdriver for easy installation.
Before installing hood struts, prop up your front heavy hood by a rod or helper to stay away from harm.
After installation
There might a little stiff when hood struts first runing. You just need cycle the hood up and down for a couple of few times, it will smothly as OEM.

These struts were easy to install and strong enough to lift the gate from about a quarter of the way open. I've only had them installed for 2 weeks. So far so good even in cold weather.
