As long as you know the trick to taking off the old struts, the new ones just snap on. These made a big difference getting my hatch door open. I hit my head on the door because it didn't open all the way.

These are well made trunk lifts. The old ones would not support the trunk at all. These new ones not only assist the lifting of the gate, but they also hold the trunk up. They were easy to install and really save lots of time. I no longer have to set items down and use two hands to lift the trunk. This is a great item.

I ordered these to replace my originals on my 2011 Prius. I have noticed recently that I need to push up the last few inches when opening my hatch so the original ones were getting worn out. I ordered this set and they arrived quickly. You only need a flat head screwdriver to release clips to remove originals then these just pop into place. I immediately noticed how much stronger these were and no longer need to push up when opening the hatch. I did notice what appears to be oil ot grease on the shafts as soon as they were compressed and released so I will keep an eye on that and update the review if anything changes in operation.
