not sure what is happening for others... had to adjust the screw in placement but otherwise it is fine and works great so far

Not exactly a product I would purchase again. Some play in the lid and certainly not for "American" Seats. Had I realized it was a foreign made product I would not have bought it. It is far too short for American lids. It is off by 1 inch the original. Do your research. Next time I'll go to a Big Box Supply store.

Wish had read the reviews, I think I got some other reviewers returned item, mine came with 3 screws that looked stripped, should have been 8 new screws. it is not universal, I have an American Standard seat, I had to install this kit anyway, it has loose shafts, the seat does not line up well with porcelain and is too far back, the the lid, seat and commode are now layered and do not line up.

though the hinges are of good quality they do not fit the toilet seat that I have. It says that they are adjustable but even with adjustments the seat does not fit properly. I will need to send them back to the seller.
