We installed both of these in under 20 minutes. Fit perfectly and of course are a wonderful improvement over the old ones which no longer would hold up the tailgate reliably. These actually are strong enough to finish raising the rear hatch if you open it about half way, even in cool weather. They seem to be well made. Keep your four original mounting screws to re-use.

These lift supports arrived with no installation instructions. The ball joint is not attached to the end of the lifter, but is packed separately.Through trial and error, I found the wrong way to install the lifters: DON'T first install the end with the two screws. DON'T remove the spring wire from the ball joint end.Instead, attach the ball joint to the lifter, and then attach the ball joint end to the car's tailgate. Then, attach the end with the two screws to the body of the car. You will need a friend to push the tailgate as high as it can go, as it is a tight fit.I would have given this product five stars, if installation instructions had been included.I got these lifters because the original ones on my car were killed by the extreme cold we experienced recently. But even if the tailgate of your car does not lift as high as it used to, you might want to replace the lifters with new ones.

These struts saved me from continuing to keep a piece of wood in the back of my car to prop my tailgate open. After getting smoked in the skull with a falling tailgate latch more than once, I decided it was time to buy new gas struts, and I bought these ones.They came with everything I needed to install them onto my vehicle, and with nothing but a screwdriver and a wrench, the car was fixed in about 20 minutes.What a difference! I no longer have to do the octopus routine trying to hold the trunk open and get all my junk into it.Something to note.. every once in a rare while, when I open the trunk, it doesn't just open.. it's like I installed Mike Tyson into my vehicle, and he's goin' for an uppercut! Sh*t comes absolutely sailing up at me!So yeah, be wary of that.. but I can't honestly say it's a problem, because it was so much more dangerous the way it was broken and falling before.. it genuinely could have killed someone.A couple months in with constant negative temperatures, and they are still working perfectly.I would recommend this product, especially considering my local dealership wanted $300 per strut including install, and these come out at $100-ish a pair and were a simple diy fix.

Only needed one lift arm, but best deal was the two pack. It was easy to install and works fine. Delivered within days of ordering even though I was given a two month delivery date!Recently installed, so far so good.

Fit perfectly and works well, but as some other reviewers noted, they are almost too strong. If I am not careful, I'm getting a whack in the face with my hatchback. I'm OK with it, as long as it holds up over time.
