I've got a 30 year old boat. The storage bin on the stern platform has a latch that is showing its age. I just put the boat into storage this week and one of my to do items is to replace the storage bin latch.The latch is 316 stainless steel and the build quality looks very good. This latch will be a nice replacement.Overall, this is a very nice chrome-plated latch that should handle the marine environment with no problem. Definitely recommended.My rating method:1 star - terrible. I wouldn't consider buying it.2 stars - marginal at best. Doesn't meet the minimum requirements or quality to be useful. Buy it at your own risk.3 stars - average. Meets the quality and requirements for a product of this type but is nothing out of the ordinary. If the price is good, I'd probably buy it.4 stars - better than average. Exceeds the typical quality of a product of this type and has a few extra features not usually found on other products of this type. I'd buy it.5 stars - exceptional - far exceeds the quality of products of this type. Hard to beat the quality and features included. Best value for the money. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

These are high quality stainless steel marine grade latches. Pay attention to the dimensions though, they will not work with thin aluminum lids without a spacer or shim. The hole size is smaller than the Perko latches but I was able to use the top part of the old latch as a spacer and bushing. It was not difficult just took some figuring. They look great and I believe they are a fair value.
