Would have ordered this size in black but was not available. So sanded the pieces wiped the parts with paint thinner. Then wiped dry.Primed with a primer 3 coats then 4 coats of paint.Installed in our trailer to have acess under the dinette.

Time will tell how well it holds up to the sun but so far I am very happy with this hatch. So far it is watertight so it is a winner in my book. The only way to improve on it would be to offer locking latches as an option.
