Start-up method:


After removing the transparent film under the bird seat, the battery will be electrified. If you want to turn off the singing function, please insert the probe into the wettest soil.

Notice:


1. After inserting the probe into wet soil, the singing function will stop. But If the singing function is still there, please water the plants. If the product sings automatically in sunlight, it means that the electricity is sufficient.


2. Probe tips need cleaning regularly with fine abrasive paper.


3. The PH value of soil should be between 3 and 8.


4. Watering is required when it sings every 15 seconds.


5. Please allow slight error due to manual measurement and make sure you do not mind before ordering.


6. Please understand that colors may exist chromatic aberration as the different placement of pictures.

I ordered this as I'm trying to get back into gardening, and staying on top of watering potted plants can get tricky.So... does this chirp when it's in dry soil? Yes. It chirped approximately every 15 seconds when I placed it in dry soil and when I kept its prongs from touching outside of soil. It stopped chirping when I inserted it into gardening soil that was quite moist.It didn't chirp when the prongs were held apart in the dark, so the day sensor appears to work in that regard. However, it did not sing for us when it first encountered light after darkness, which is supposed to let us know if the 2 included AG10 button cell batteries are still working.However, the pH sensitivity doesn't seem to be working. We tested putting it in lemon juice, which has a pH of 2.2, and it did not chirp at all despite the low pH.The packaging mentions adjusting the height of the rods for different soil moisture needs. This is confusing, and there's no guide saying "insert 3 inches deep for cacti" or anything like that, so that's an art, and there's no easy way to verify what depth you need with this tool.It is very cute, and I appreciate what features it has that do work, but it claims several features that did not come through in practice.

Deapite repeated watering of plant and waiting couple of days for unit to behave, then even putting unit’s sensor legs in a glass of of water, the unit would not cut off.

I love these, I just wish they were less expensive so I could get a bunch. But, they really help me with watering my plants who don't like much water. I tend to water too often.
