I bought this for my Audi A3, and it was an exact fit. The strut does its job of holding open the hood when I need it open, and damping the movement when I need to close it. The only downside was the retaining clips were difficult to keep in the "partially open" position. They would either be closed or pop off. But I don't know if this is any better with any other brand. Overall I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Thats exactly what I need for.my Audi A3 2012 TFSI (bars to hold the trunk), it fits perfectly and installing it was a piece of cake. So far, i've got no problem and the bars and in excellent shape!
