It's well known that the drain plug for RV water heaters is a problem. Tough to remove, tough to install, due to tight working space. Too easy to twist the head off the plastic plug and cause a nightmare. They often drip. Would be nice to have a permanent drain valve that just sits there all the time. Easy winterizing. No wrench. Alas, this did not work for me. It is so long that it won't fit around the existing piping. Grrrr.

Neat little valve. Exactly what should be on every RV water heater.Oh, yeah not cost effective. (Cheap)I removed the handle to facilitate installation. I also substituted Great White pipe compound with ptfe for the tape. I consider it far superior to Teflon tape.It is an easy installation if you have a 15/16 open end wrench. If not it could be a bit trying.

Very tight fit behind the gas feed line. Finally got the proper thread alignment and then it was somewhat of a time consuming operation getting it screwed in. Had to remove the plastic lever to screw it in as there was no clearance with it on.Once I got it on it leaked through the valve. After some food grade silicone applied to the ball valve and working it on and off several cycles that stopped.After its first 3 week trip there was no sign of leakage. Used it to drain after trip. Yet to be seen if valve leaks when closed and tank filled the second time.

Drain valve was easy to install and use. Nice that it includes thread tape (but it could have been a higher quality material.)
