Installed these on my 2011 Avant and instantly the rear hatch opens so abruptly it bounces against the stops shaking the car. Occasionally the hatch now makes a screeching noise since the shocks are not equal in power. I removed both shocks and moved the hatch up and down without a single noise. Looking for another brand.

The right strut on my rear tail gate was not functioning. Most times when the rear hatch was open it would slowly close. It could be very hazardous if you still had a body part in the opening while it began to shut. Anyway I was told by the dealership that the cost for repair and replacement for the defective right strut would be $140. I ordered a pair of these struts for a bit over $20 including tax. Very easy to replace, taking maybe 5 minutes. They work great!
