Perfect replacement for the hydraulics on our 2013 Ford Escape. We had 2 issues with the failing parts: 1) it would open slowly to a reasonable height, then immediately drop ~6 inches as if the hydraulics were failing. 2) it no longer allowed us to set a new opening height. Now, with the new parts, the hatch stays open to any height we set. Well worth the ~$100. And the replacement process couldn't have been much easier. Pop the old clips, pull the old hydraulics (have a friend or board to hold the hatch open) and snap the new stuff in place. Even accessing the plug for the controls was easy, as the body panels pop on and off super easy and don't need to be fully removed.

These saved me about $600. So far they are working fine. Was a perfect fit on my 2016 Ford escape titanium.

I installed this set of struts in my 2024 Ford Escape with automatic rear hatch door. There is a video on YouTube with instructions how to install these struts. One strut has an electrical plug that powers the automatic lift. The other strut does not have any electrical wires. Installation took 20 minutes. If your trunk door does not stay open anymore, you need new struts.
