2. Draw two lines at the place of Heel and Toe;
3.Measure the vertical distance between the two lines.

Good quality shoe. Color is slightly darker than photo. Ordered Size 8 and 8 1/2 as many dance shoes available on Amazon seem to be shorter in length than street shoes. This time I ordered an extra size up to make sure I got a shoe that doesn't crunch my big toe. Size 8 fits perfectly and is on the wide side. I have wide feet and need a cookie. The shoe provides proper space in the toe bed without crunching. Might be too wide for someone with a narrow foot.

I don't have a lot of experience with this type of shoe, here's what I like: more flexible than a character shoe, I like the color and style, they fit true to size, and I don't feel like they are rubbing or going to chafe anywhere.I find the flexibility means than the heels are less firm than, say, a character shoe that is designed for heel turns, so you are supporting more weight on the balls of your feet. That's generally a good thing for dancing, but if you're getting tired, it may increase the risk of a rolled ankle. Not a negative per se, just something to be aware of if you aren't used to it.

Broke after third dance within 30 minutes of wearing it the first day. The soles came off on the shoes.
