So far it's been working perfectly!, it got down to the negative temps (-2°F) a few weeks ago , the furnace was literally turning on and off every 15 mins! ( 1950's house with original wooden windows, so kinda drafty in the winter )This is the second season that it has been used, and no issues! I like how easy it was to install, fit in the same location as the last one with minor work, and wired up easily which saved me quite a bit of $$$ and time being able to install it myself!I like that it operates better than the last 10 yr old control unit that literally burned up ( circuit board caught fire 😬)The start up , and shut down timimg on this controller are calibrated much better , now my furnace doesn't overheat anymore! The old controller would sometimes shut the blower down too early, not allowing the fire box to cool properly causing the high limit switch to trip occasionally🙄, so no heat for hours until I reset it 🥶...

This is a "universal" replacement control module. There were several installation issues that you will need to overcome. First, the mounting hole locations are not the same as the original control module. Second, in order for the multiwire connector harnesses to reach their mating connectors you will need the mount the control module upside down (with the thermostat screws towards the top). That makes connecting the thermostat wires extremely difficult. And lastly, if you have an older HVAC system, like mine, that does not have wires connected to RO1 and RO2 on the large multiwire harness connector you will need to install a jumper wire provided in the kit. Without this jumper the module does not even power up! Check this before you start the return process.

I have a York Diamond 80 furnace. Yesterday, fan keeps running until powered off. This replaces the old one 50A50-230, which was longer. I used two top holes to attach the new board and left it hanging like that. The whole process took me 5 hours due to the awkward positioning of the furnace.I do not need to use the provided jumper like some reviewers mentioned. The extension wires are not useful to me because of the caliber is too large for two connectors to the transformer that I want to move. I ended up installing the transformer in the original place, which caused the wire to be cramped. The new board positioned wires in the flip side of the old board, which caused a lot of my headache. Despite all that, the HVAC now works.

The 50A55-843 is a "universal direct plug-in replacement" for the WHITE-ROGERS Emerson Elec. Co. 50A50-241 furnace controller board. The product came in an OEM box, wrapped in an antistatic bag, and connection headers with wire leads and end-connectors (not used to replace the furnace controller board). After downloading the installation instructions from the internet for the 50A55-843, I reviewed the heat cycles and confirmed that this was a "universal replacement" for multiple furnace controller boards including my York 95 furnace controller board, the 50A50-241. I bought this product based on the comments of the "lockout codes" that others had shared in the comments where the red status indicator LED would continuously flash on/off after the start of a heat cycle and the fan would continue running continuously for the 60-minute lockout period. This would go on as long as the thermostat issued a "call for heat". If it was cold outside then it would continue until the outside temperature would warm up. Once I diagnosed that everything else was operational with the furnace control systems and pressure switch valves, I knew the 25+ year-old electronic controller board was faulty and had indeed failed. To replace the old controller board with the new controller board, I turned off the power to the furnace and then I switched the jumper wires from the old board onto the new board which was simple. After verifying that all the wires were completely transferred from the old to the new one, I then turned on the furnace afterwards and the "call for heat" cycle began as normal from my thermostat. After the "call for heat" cycle stopped, the motor stopped running and turned off after 3 minutes according to the specifications. It was perfect! I had to drill two holes for the existing self-tapping screws because the enclosure for the furnace controller board was shorter than the older controller board. I simply reused the self-tapping screws and it was perfectly secured in the same position as the old board, including the LED status light location for viewing through the clear window on the furnace metal blower door that also houses the electronics and wiring for the furnace. This is an excellent product and an exact drop-in replacement for my old furnace controller board (old = 50A50-241 ==>> new = 50A55-843).Before purchasing, confirm that your old or existing faulty or failed furnace controller board is on the universal product replacement list. Mine was on the list so it was an exact drop-in replacement.I hope you found this review helpful in making the right purchase decision for you and your situation.I also have an electronics engineering background and used to work in HVAC a long time ago.

Like many others, I had ridiculous estimate to replace this control board for a furnace that was intermittently failing. Local HVAC company wanted $1200 for this. I found them for $300, $145 and this one that was on sale for $82+shipping. I figured even if it didn't fix the problem, it was worth around $100 to replace our 19-year old version. Our unit is a Trane XB80. The old model was a 50A55-571. According to my searches, it had been replaced with this 50A55-843. This unit appears to replace multiple model #'s for Trane.I took tons of pictures before I started. I detached the old board from the sheet metal plate, leaving the old connections in place. The new board fit the old fasteners, so I didn't require drilling any new holes. Others here have reported the need to drill holes and us the supplied sheet metal screws. I got lucky I guess.I simply replaced each connection one-at-a-time from the old board to the new one. Super simple process. I double-checked the markings on the new board with the old. Everything fit as expected.*** NOTE ABOUT THE INCLUDED JUMPER WIRE *** There is another review here that mentions (and shows pictures of) the use of a jumper from RO1 to RO2 in one of the connectors. I'm not an HVAC guy, so even after reading that I forgot to do that. So when I turned on the furnace, I could hear connection but my digital thermostat had no power and the furnace wouldn't turn on. I triple-checked all connections and labels and it was indeed installed correctly. I come back here to re-read the reviews and saw his post again (with pictures). I then went back to the included manual and there was the note that the RO1 to RO2 was a required step that I missed. I inserted the jumper into the clearly-marked correct hole in the connector and everything worked great after that!So if you're not afraid of little DIY activity, this is really a cost-saver. I'm "handy" but by no means an HVAC expert. Even with all the triple-checking and rereading of the manual, I had this replaced in less than about an hour an a half.

Replaced old model 50a50-473 with this model and was fairly easy to install. Labelled all wires on old unit before removing to facilitate reconnecting. Works great. I did need the provided jumper from R0 to R1.

After quickly collecting some information from other "do it yourselfer's" on YouTube and reading a few product reviews here at Amazon, I decided I could change the control board (myself) in our Trane XE 80 (which had a bad White Rogers 50A50-471 control board). I was getting an error code 5 (five flashes) when starting the unit, the fan would continually run, and the heater flame was not lighting consistently. I had already replaced the flame sensor and a limit switch earlier this week for the ignition problem, however as that problem did not consistently abate, I knew that the problem(s) most likely included the original control board.I received the new control board this afternoon, and within a couple of hours I had the old board replaced and everything connected up again. Before taking out the old control board, I labeled wires and took pictures. I also had to drill new holes on the heater's metal panel to mount the new control board. Then, I mounted the new board to the heater and began connecting wires. Heat, air conditioning now work again (yeah!).Replacing a control board (as a do it yourself project) is not for everyone. It is certainly is NOT for beginners. You will need to determine your own skills and comfort level. For my own success, I would emphasize that it was very important to watch the videos on YouTube and to read some of the reviews here to get a clearer understanding of the necessity for an extra connection between the RO1 and RO2 sockets with my Trane unit. There was a wire included with my new control board to do this. There were also four wire extensions (with connectors installed). These "extras with the control board" were life savers. I used two of the wire extensions during my installation with old wires that could no longer reach their connector on the new control board. Finally, the price of this control board on Amazon was better than anywhere else (that I could find) at $86. I had no problems while setting up this product. I took my time, and double checked my work before testing the new control board. Doing the work myself, I also saved over $500 for the service call to install this board (and who knows what other fees for the costs of another control board). While I was initially reluctant to perform this work myself, I am really glad that I did this.

Arrived on a day before the delivery date estimated originally so couldn't be happier to get it installed right away! The board fits my York furnace and it worked right from the get-go without any problems. Installation was a breeze but because the board is a bit smaller than the original one I had to drill two holes in the bracket and I could secured it with 4 screws. The board has been running flawlessly and I'm very happy with this buy.
