It's not leather, and they feel a little stiff to start with, but I think they would soften up a lit more after a few wear just like most PU material. Thy fit fine and work well as tap shoes. I particularly like the heel - just the right height.

We got these for fun since tap dancing is a great way to stay active. They fit well and feel sturdy, though they took a little breaking in. If you're looking for something comfortable and affordable, these are a solid choice.

Fit as expected. Slipped on as well as any other I’ve tried. Taps are well attached and produce a decent sound. Sole is sturdy and the shoe overall held well through the first week of breaking them in. Great practice shoe.

I ordered these by accident, they looked great, I like the style. When they arrived and I see they have metal on the toe and heel to make noise while tap dancing. They are not everyday shoes. But they are great tap shoes, they are very comfy and yet fit snuggly, they wont come loose while dancing. They look like leather but are PU leather. They make great tap shoes at a great price. $36 for specialty shoes is a good deal
