The UANTiN SD card reader has a sleek construction, lightweight design, and low profile. Best of all, it has both USB-C and USB-A connections, both of which have caps for protection, allowing my new and my legacy devices to get the files. This reader accepts both micro and regular SD card sizes. It was easy to transfer gigabytes of large 4K video files from my micro-SD to my computer. I am truly delighted that such a small devices, easy to carry with my other electronics, does such a great job without any issue.Unfortunately, I have had experiences with bad readers, but thankfully this one works perfectly.

This UANTIN SD card reader is quite well-made: solid metal construction, with decent plastic end caps that snap on securely (though I'm sure I will have misplaced one or both before long). I really like that it has both USB-A and USB-C plugs, one at each end, as I have a variety of old Macs, new Macs and Linux boxes with both kinds of USB interfaces. It handled various SD and microSD cards that I tested it with. The microSD slot does not have the usual click-in/click-out spring mechanism, but that's really not a big deal. There's enough of the card end exposed to be able to pull it out with fingernails. My only gripe is the size, specifically the width. On a newish MacBook Air with two USB-C interfaces, the card reader blocks the adjacent jack, which is where the Mac gets power. So the power has to be disconnected to use the reader. On an older MacBook with a USB-A on one side and a USB-A on the other, the same conflict. The reader blocks the adjacent power connector on the left side, and blocks the adjacent Mini DisplayPort interface on the right. (I use the latter for an ethernet connection).OTOH, the USB-C plug is long enough that it connects to my iPhone15 (in a case) with no problem.Overall, it's an excellent addition to my kit of IT accessories and adapters. Recommended if you need to access SD or microSD cards.

I bought this SD card reader to help my sister-in-law, who has a MacBook Pro with only USB-C ports and no built-in SD card slot. It worked perfectly for transferring photos from her camera’s micro SD card and my camera's full size SD card to her laptop. The dual-slot design for both SD and MicroSD cards is super convenient, letting her switch between cards easily. The setup was straightforward—just plug and play, no extra drivers needed. On the MacBook Pro, and the connection was stable and fast. The compact and durable design makes it easy to carry around too.If you have a newer MacBook or any device with USB-C and need an SD card reader, this is a reliable and affordable choice!

I verified that this SD card reader does in fact operate in USB 3.0 speeds. Having the option between USB-C and USB-A allows for great flexibility on the go with a small form factor. It even allows me to plug in without requiring me to remove my case. All in all, this is a great product with great build quality! Super handy to use this to review SD card dashcam footage on the go!

Like everyone else, I have a ton of old SD/MicroSD cards laying around the house with no idea what's on them. I also have THOUSANDS of pictures on my phone that I need to back up. The UANTIN Dual Slot SD Card Reader has been a great solution for me.The unit is small at under 3 inches. There are two caps at either end, a short cord and keyring and the two slots for SD and MicroSD cards. The two caps cover a USB-A and USB-C connection and the entire unit is plug and play. Install a card and plug it into your phone or laptop and you're off and running. When I plugged it into my laptop (Windows 11) it immediately read it as an external drive and I was able to review and delete the contents of the card. The same happened when I connected it to my Android phone as well. While I haven't tried it, the company states that it can read two cards simultaneously. While they don't list the max size card the unit can handle, they do show an image of a 64GB card so I would assume that is it. One warning, make sure to unmount/eject the device before removing it to avoid any loss of data.I am very happy with this card reader. It is well designed, VERY fast at transferring data and let's you connect to a phone or laptop with the one unit. In my humble opinion, it's well worth the $10 asking price.

PROS:- Very thin and portable. It may block access to neighbouring ports if they’re very close.- Has a neck after the USB Type C connector which supports use with smartphones that have a thin enough case. (Mine is 1.1 mm thick.) Other microSD+SD card readers might require removing the case.- Leaves 5 mm of the microSD card out when fully inserted, so it’s easy to pull the card out with fingertips (but no spring loaded microSD slot).- A blue LED shows accesses by blinking so you know when to avoid taking it out of the computer.- Nice read and write speeds, exceeding USB 2.0’s 42 MByte/s: 95 MByte/s read, 82 MByte/s write (this reader is UHS-I).- Doesn’t get too hot during use.- Comes with USB port caps and a keyring.CONS:- While both the microSD and SD card slots can be used at once, their speeds drop if both are read from or written to at once, even if the total speed of both cards would be under 5 Gbps. For example, let’s say the two cards are capable of reading at 95 MByte/s each, and I launch a read from both cards simultaneously. In my testing, instead of each reading at 95 MByte/s and reaching a combined 190 MByte/s, both cards reach only 42 MByte/s each, for a combined 84 MByte/s. That is slower than one card can read.- No card orientation guides.- No spring loaded microSD slot (but leaves enough of the card out for it not to be too tedious to remove).

I didn't expect this to be as good as it is, it works very fast. I popped in 2 SD cards at the same time and plugged it in via the USB-C end, and both cards appeared in file explorer in a second, faster than any other reader I've had. They eject just as fast.Testing this gave me the excuse to go thru all my old SD cards of both types and delete any contents, which it also did quickly (though limited by the speed of the old cards, I'm sure). Did a few tests writing large files as well and was pleased to notice it was faster than my other readers, too, though again, limited by the cards' abilities. You won't get blazing speeds with even the newest cards as they just aren't made for for it.I'm confident in tossing out all my other readers now, very happy with this. I appreciate the protective usb covers too as these things always end up tossed in a drawer.

I needed a MicroSD reader for importing pictures from my camera straight to my phone. I like that it has USB-A and USB-C so I can use for either my phone or computer. The versatility of it is great and it is compact which makes it super easy to travel with it, it's so small that I can just put it in my jean pockets and it's not even visible. The quality feels very good and durable. Very content with it and I think the price is fair compared to similar products.

5 out of 5 stars from me, I highly recommend this SD Card Reader!Unlike similar products available out there, this device shines for the fact that it can actually read and write from both card slots simultaneously!I've purchased and tested MANY other products both exactly like this or very simillar to and this is the first that I've come across that offers both USB-A and USB-C and can both read/write from both card slots simultaneously. It's small, compact and works great! Read and write speed is on par with specs.I highly recommend this reader!

The UANTIN SD Card Reader has been incredibly handy for my daily use—from backing up photos from my phone to an SD card, transferring DSLR shots, to grabbing footage from my car dash cam. I keep it on my keychain so it’s always with me, and the dual USB-C and USB-A connectors make it super versatile with all my devices. It came in perfect condition with no signs of damage, and it feels solid and durable despite its compact size. Transfers are fast, it’s truly plug-and-play, and it’s made my workflow much smoother without any hassle.

I tested 2 SD cards on three different USB ports, USB 3/USB3.1/USB3.1Gen2, and had similar results which tells me this is a USB3.0 reader, as stated in the description.I like the fact it can plug directly into my Samsung Galaxy phone. Phone recognizes it immediately as a USB drive. Only issue was my Phone Case had to be removed in order to plug it in.
