Installed on a '87 BMW 325i. They do their job. They are a larger diameter than the OEM lifts (see pic). They will work on the E30 but you have to install them upside-down to make them fit. The larger diameter prevents correct installation. They work fine upside-down so no worries. A fix at a fraction of the OEM cost. Hope they last longer than OEM too. OEM is only good for 2-3 years and they leak out.

These fit perfect and are easy to install. I can finally raise and lower the Convertible top without needing a second set of hands to hold the lid up.My only complaint is it would've been nice to have the small c-clips included since the ones I removed were original and broke while taking them off. Not enough of an issue to knock it down a star. Just be mindful to be careful when removing the existing clips.

Openings are rather narrow for the 89 model. Had to be forced in, as a result, clip washer that secures it to body did not fit. Item stays attached by the sheer force of the shocks. Wouldn’t buy again.
