These work for what I had purchased them for but note that the actual braces that I received had the holes are off-set from the center on either side. The picture shows both holes on the centerline of the brace,

They're metal. Shaped like an L. 4 holes in each one. Pretty simple really. The only way they could be better is if they came with a rebate.
