A turntable weight makes almost no difference except in very particular circumstances.The added weight can act like a flywheel to give slightly better speed stability, and for records that are slightly warped, depending on the shape of the warpage, it can assist in flattening them.All that to say, if you need one of these for your turntable to play smoothly, there's something else at fault here. I see this best used to add weight if you have a cheap, flimsy plastic turntable platter, but if you have one of those you'd be better off getting a better turntable than spending money on a band-aid.Of course, if appearance is your primary concern, this does look pretty nice. Its made well, and doesn't really try to be something its not (outside of dubious use case claims).Would I recommend all vinyl enthusiasts go out and get one? Not really.
