Truly plug and play when coupled with correct harness. 360 degree mounting a definite plus. Mounted and hooked up in less than 5 .

Excellent controller.Very easy to install (15-20 min.) and works perfect. Dealer said they would have to hard wire the controller in (3-4 hrs.) and anyone can do it. Only tool is a philips screw driver.

This is a very good brake controller. It has 3 modes depends on the towing type that help to quickly set the brake to needed settings.

Works great! Easy plug and play with harness purchased separately. Provided you have the factory tow package you should find the plugin under the dash.

Quick Shipping. Product exactly as described. Works perfect! Installed on a Chevy Suburban with ease. Easy to adjust to the brake controller for our KZ 23 foot trailer. Researched all the various types out there and picked this one based on prior reviews and price point. Highly recommend this brake controller.

I had the Primus in my other truck so when the new Dodge needed a updated controller I bought this one. The Primus uses the Prodigy technology so performance was the same but I liked the manual control of this one over the Primus.

Installed in seconds, works well, based on use of only a couple of hours of towing. Contrary to what the Jeep dealer said, it works perfectly with my electrical system, and complements the factory installed towing package on my 2015 Cherokee.

This controller is incredible! My story is a long one but will tell you how this device is working for me. I first went to the local U-Haul thinking they knew what they were doing. They offered me their "Top of the Line Pilot unit" and installation for $275. I showed them where the factory harnesses were, my truck came wired to the front for a controller, and they told me it would take the day. Well to make a long story short, it rained all that day and I picked up the Yukon at 4PM and drove it home. When I got home I noticed water in the cabin at my feet. Upon looking at it I found that the guy had taken the boot off just below the door hinge and run several wires through there. I looked at that then decided to inspect his work thoroughly. Everywhere I turned this guy had done a bad job. From running the wire harness through the hood hinge around and through the driver side door panel into the cabin. It was so bad that the wires were frayed from closing the hood once, and he had not used any of the factory harnesses. Needless to say I took it right back to the Uhaul place, argued for an hour with the night manager and he finally agreed to refund the installation cost and I just paid for the Pilot brake control unit. The next day I took out every bit of wiring they had installed and installed the Pilot unit properly using the factory harnesses. I then took out my travel trailer and had a devil of a time getting the Pilot unit adjusted. It would always lock up the brakes sometime during the braking process, even on the lowest level and on the straight away. So I read up on braking units and found this Tekonsha Prodigy P2 unit to be highly recommended for all of it' features. I ordered it, used the harness that came with it to connect to the harness in the cabin, took all of 10 minutes, and took the trailer out to program the unit. Needless to say I can't say enough that it was like night and day with this unit. The stops are perfect now on straight aways, downhills, etc. and it's like I don't even have the travel trailer behind me. Five stars for this unit. U-Haul gets a -10!

I really like the easy to see display and big easy to use controls. The new high end model from Tekonsha has an LCD display and many small buttons, maybe good for techies...but I just want my trailer to stop. This model has nearly the same features in an easy to use package. My trailer has two axles with brakes and the unit setup and works great. In the mountains, I find that on the fly adjustments are easily accomplished with the large screen and large wheel. There is also a boost feature (that is adjustable also) on this model.Installation wise, the unit is roughly the same as any other controller, four wires and similar dimensions. However this unit (like many available now) is auto leveling, that provides more available angles for increased installation options. I would order a wiring install kit or the adapter wire if available for your application...makes life a bit easier.I installed mine in a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the Hemi and Factory Tow Package. I needed the circuit breaker and controller power wire for installation. Under the dash as part of the factory tow pkg, taped up to a harness near the left side fuse box, is a dark green (??..yes green) pigtail wire that goes to the trailer 7way plug for the trailer brakes. This connects to the blue brake output of the brake controller. Convenient since there is no plug adapter available for this application (yet anyway). My factory tow package has the 12v and reverse lights already operational in the 7way plug, so adding the brake control was the last step for me to be able tow with this vehicle.I have been using the unit in the mountains now for several months and it has been flawless and settings remain where I set them. Overall, I am very pleased with this unit and I trust the Tekonsha name and reputation when it comes to my brakes.Remember that when you need to stop, your brakes are PRICELESS!

I had never setup trailer brakes on a truck before, but I purchased this brake controller since it was so highly recommended by some online communities. I tow an '87 Scamp with a 2004 Ford Ranger- which does not come from the factory with any kind of "plug and play" system for trailer brakes. Through checking wires for switched current on the brake pedal (with a multimeter), I was able to determine which wire should be tapped into (this wire switches the truck's brake lights). On the 2004 Ford Ranger, it is the 2nd wire from the front of the truck. The brake controller comes with a wiring pigtail and a pretty reasonable instruction manual- I had to read it a few times before I had everything straightened out. The brake controller auto-powers off after a period of time with no interaction, and powers up immediately with brake current. Additionally, when the controller powers up it lets you know if it senses a connected set of brakes or not, which is a nice first line of testing your brakes before you hit the road. The controller has a nice lever on the bottom to apply just the trailer brakes (think about sudden sway situations), and very customizable settings as far as the intensity of the automatic brake application. The specific voltage can be set, or a general group for the weight differential between the vehicle and the trailer can be used. Switching the intensity of the trailer braking literally takes 2-5 seconds, which is great when navigating mountain roads. The brake controller also comes with mounting options, a tiltable bracket and an underdash pocket. I considered using the bracket, but for the location I wanted to use, the pocket made the most sense.

I ordered this unit to fit into my 1999 Suburban. I had to have a control that I could mount other than horizontally. I needed to mount the unit at just about 90 degrees from horizontal (almost vertically). This unit, as advertised, seemed to fit the bill exactly. I installed the first one, and it didn't work properly from the beginning. I actually rewired my truck twice because I didn't suspect the controller to be defective. Silly me! However, the seller was GREAT and allowed me (after 6 months of receiving the defective unit) to exchange the controller for a new one - even trade. I plugged the new one in and it works absolutely flawlessly. If you get a unit that works, you have yourself one heckofa great controller! I would give this a five star except for the first defective unit.

After reading up on brake controllers I ended up going with this Prodigy P2 controller. My setup consists of a 2011 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door pulling a 2011 Rockwood Premeire A126 Hard Side A-Frame Pop-Up. After adding the Mopar wiring harness myself I picked this up at a pretty good price on Amazon.Installation is easy but does require some extra parts for the Jeep Wrangler as it is not pre-wired for connection into a towing system with brake controller like most modern trucks and larger SUV's are. Adding on some heavy gauge automotive wire, butt connectors and a scotch lock connector to tie into my brake control wire under the dash I had everything I needed.I ran power wires through the firewall grommet that the brake control wire from the 7pin towing harness came through and brought wiring over to the drivers side of the center console foot well, connected up the plug that came with the controller and located the controller in the small cargo netting under the HVAC controls in my center console. When not in use the wiring for the brake controller is coiled up and tucked under the center console foot well out of the way and the brake controller is stored safely out of sight. The setup of the controller is easy, and the controller can be in any position (except totally sideways) allowing you to mount it wherever you would like, and at virtually any angle. I followed the instruction manual to make the initial adjustment and after a few smaller adjustments was dialed in and pulling away with my new camper in tow.Braking is smooth and consistent based on how hard you are braking and the manual control is easy to operate in the event you need to apply trailer brakes without tow vehicle brakes (such as severe sway conditions). From a braking standpoint, I would hardly tell the camper was back there.Great product and worth a few extra bucks over cheaper controllers. Hopefully this will last me a long time.
