My husband installed these on my 2023 Rav4 LE (blacked out option). He said the install was fairly simple after watching the youtube video. He is very handy though. I like the sporty look and its nice to have a step. No issues since installation.

Best to get installed by a professional. Toyota had to do some minor modifications under my RAV4. Not a straight bolt on. Look good and time will tell with durability.

I just bought my 2024 Rav4, 9/13/2024 and my boys almost face planted a few times getting out of my Rav4. I chose these since I like nerf bars and they are perfect. Took about 2 hours to install. The directions are not too good but I found a video on YouTube that showed exactly how to install these on a Rav4 which helped greatly. My boys love them and they look great. I can't speak on longevity as they just got installed today, 9/28/2024, but will update if there are any issues. The bars were packaged really well and besides missing one 10mm lock washer, which we ironically had one laying around, everything was great.I would recommend these.

Being in an area that can get snow/ice, I did not want the flat running boards that are against the vehicle with no opening near the vehicle as when snow builds up on the boards with the possibility of ice under the snow, you cannot open your doors and chipping it off so close to the vehicle paint can be cumbersome. Also some flat running boards, with doors open, do not have enough of the flat surface to secure your footing as much of the board is under the vehicle or rocker panel depending on how much the lower sides of your vehicle curve inwards and how wide your boards are. These took me about 2-1/2 hours to instal. Vehicle mudflaps can remain on the vehicle and I had enough room that I did not have to jack up the vehicle to instal.I initially bought these for my wife’s 2024 Rav4 as she is short but now I find I use the boards to instal or remove the bike racks or SUP board rack on the crossbars or to remove the crossbars all together. Also it helps me when I detail the Rav4 and need to use my DA polisher on the roof’s centre area where I can barely reach with the doors open(I am 5’10”)One note. Two week ago was our first steady rainfall while driving. The running boards were full of water and I noticed it while braking and hearing a loud sloshing sound with every braking and acceleration. I removed the round end plugs and lots of water came out the rear hole. I left these plugs off. As these holes at the end are not at the bottom of the hollow tube, I will likely drill a drain hole along the bottom closer to the rear of the boards and put the end plugs back in. I say I am drilling a drain hole towards the rear of the boards because with the winter salt and brine, more of that will be splashed into any holes closer to my front tire even with the mudflaps blocking some debris. I suppose another drain hole as close to the front/close to the mudflap wpould be OK in addition to the rear hole but likely one 3/8” hole near the back is sufficient. So I am picking up my own 2024 Rav4 soon and am about to order another set of these.I choose the stainless steel ones as some report that rust can form on the painted black metal bars.

It takes some patience and time to install but worth it.

I found a video on YouTube that gave very helpful directions on installing. I’m 70 years old and got them installed in 2 hours. All holes matched up so there was no additional tools required. Very sturdy and useful, as my wife is short and getting into the RAV4 was very difficult. She is pleased.

Fairly simple to install, although they shorted me one bolt, which was not crucial. They look great, and appear to be very sturdy.I recommend searching YouTube for tutorials, before attempting this install,as the instructions are different to follow.Mike

Overall rails are of high quality. They feel sturdy, and all the holes matched up.The instructions were a bit harder to follow, and the pictures seemed that they could have been of high quality. I will say I put these on a hybrid, and while they fit up just fine, there is a slightly different layout on the passenger side near the rear that threw me for a while. For those of you with a hybrid, they do fit perfect, but on the rear there is some thin sheet metal that you need to cut away for the rear mounting hole.My only real complaint is the hardware. It felt rather cheap, I never could get the nuts to tighten to the point of no longer turning. I stopped as I was fearful of breaking the heads off but there was always another full turn available. Also the L shaped bolts that go into the mounting holes are not the best engineering. While I'm not sure how else it can be done, we had some major issues with a couple of the rear mounting bolts not staying in place and sliding out. On thing is the plastic squares that hold it in place don't seem to stay well. Maybe if they were metal or some how welded to the bold (similar to the front mount bolts) it would work better.Overall I'm happy with the product and it makes the Rav4 look complete.
