The BindMate manual binding machine and punch is perfect for the traveling professional. It is the perfect combination for presentation and organization needs. It creates neatly bound documents for use with binding spines and covers, or for use with a simple report cover or ring binder. The BindMate machine punches and binds letter size paper, and can accommodate both standard and oversize covers. Simple to use ( thank God, the instructions suck!), but light weight. Reflects the cost. Used thicker paper for a calendar and could only punch two sheets of heavy paper, when you tried four the plastic handle started twisting. It's light weight so treat it as such and you will enjoy making some wonderful projects.

Overall, a good purchase for the price. I would have been disappointed if I had paid more in store. It is a bit difficult to make holes in the paper, I always feel like I'm going to break the handle. You really have to punch less paper than the product states if you want perfect holes and if you want your machine to last. It is a bit difficult to get the combs in with this machine, so you have to take your time and be patience. If you get frustrated easily, you might want to upgrade to an automatic machine. This machine is perfect for occasional use. Because all steps are manual, if you needed to make a lot of reports/books in this machine, I feel it would take too much time to prepare.

Unhappy with this product. The first one wasn't working so we returned it and we paid more than what we got for our return shipping cost plus lots of hassle. The only way we can make it work is but only putting in 3 pages at a time

This is a VERY lightweight and inexpensive binder. First, punching 9 pages of standard 20# copy paper is impossible. Two or three pages at most. The problem is that it's very difficult to feed in more than a couple of pages. They catch on some sort of ridge before entering the punch channel. If you are not careful you will have pages punched at an slight angle and you'll have to reprint those before binding. Also the 'stop' for the top of the page is very small and it's easy to have pages slide up over it. This results in a ragged top.I'll probably keep it for now but I would be inclined to get the C10 or C20 next time.

We were tired of 3 hole punching papers to make gardening manuals and decided to give this item a shot. Some years before I worked in a copy shop and remembered how previously there was one machine for punching and one machine for binding, so I was happily surprised to see one that combined both.Does it punch 8 sheets perfectly every time, all the time? No. If that matters to you then you should look elsewhere. Does it punch 5 to 6 sheets perfectly every time, all the time, yes. It'd be nice if it could handle larger combs and maybe someday I'll see if it can work outside the specs. But all in all, I'm pretty happy with it.

I can't tell you how well this works, yet, because I still haven't figured out what kind or what size of spines or combs to buy for it. The directions are confusing; once I locate the appropriate spines I'm going to have to find somebody with experience using these things to show me how to use it; the instructions are vague and seem to assume prior familiarity with the system. I wish I had realized that this did not come with an assortment of the right kind of spines packed in with it. I wish that the instruction manual told what kind of spines it takes if they're not going to include some. I wish the product description had included information like "takes 1/2 or 1/4 inch combs, not included with product, click here to purchase." I wish I'd read the other reviews before buying this, because I'm concerned that it's not going to be up to the tasks before it. I feel frustrated and disheartened.

Amazon has give us a wonderful gift to help get orgnied. Order this and it was received promptly. Have been binding many of the loose papers (by subject) that are floating around the house. We have been doing a lot of family history and get bits of information from many sources and now that is ll going together in a less bulky form than 3 ring binders. Using it for study material when they come to us in loose form Really are enjoying having this.
