I remember the record from the 1960s. It was as enjoyable hearing it again, as it was then. Timeless.

Excellent reissue by Sundazed of this late 60s psych-jam session. The translucent blue vinyl looks great on the turntable.

An outstanding recording from '68 is polished up and re-presented for the turn-of-the-Mil. The disc has some super-funky elements you can add to your party playlist to get people saying, "This sounds familiar -- who is it?" And if you or your kid or your grandkid is trying to get a handle on playing blues guitar, you cannot do better than this disc. A great selection of slow-burning and fire-off-the-fingertips blues guitar.

I was thrilled to find this cd on amazon! I have this album from way back and I do not have a turntable anymore.Great musicians, and the cd quality is excellent. Plus, the price was right.

As bad as the business was back in the old days (read Kooper's "Backstage Passes & Backstabbing Bastards") they still managed to produce so many great records, and things kept changing, even evolving. No one takes chances anymore. Sure, there have always been stamped out hits, the Archies & 1910 Fruit Fum Company, etc, but every now and then something like Super Session would happen. Great Blues, decent production, a good addition to any music lover's collection.

Essential listening and part of very important part of the change in music....too bad Mike had te leave so early. Thank God that Bob Dylan recognized his amazing talent and helped with the blending of so many important role players......

Don't Say That I Ain't Your Man: Essential Bluesを買ったのを覚えています。

When Bob Dylan turn up his Stratocaster due his performance in the Newpork jazz and folk festival in 1965, few knew who was the master ax-man who played besides him, Consider by Dylan himself as the Best blues played he'd ever met, Michael Bloomfield was one of the greatset guitar player who's steped on this planet, a wild unncany force that anyone could tame, The "Like a Rolling Stone" session made possible the enconter with the only person who could lead Bloomfield to a "down to earth" path, he tamed the beast, The Blues Beast. The result is arguably the Greatest "Side A" of the 60's. Starting with "Albert's Shuffle" Bloomfield explotes in a no-prisioners solo, squezing his les paul to the limit, in 5 minutes of absolute glory, only to be overshadow by the best theme on the album. The version of Shuman-Ravogoy's "Stop" is what Kooper was looking for when his LSD filled-head planed this album, the perfect execution of Bloomfield with his mastery with the keyboards, Three minutes of absolute joy, by this ponir you realize that what you're hearing is a piece of history, something that your grandchildren must hear, Trust me, this version is by far better than what Hendrix did with the band of Gypsies. The rest of the side makes you travel to somekind of blues paradise, to bad that the beast claimed bloomfield, and he didn't finish the side "B", Stills had a huge space to fill, we can't blame him to be overrun by the first side of the record, "season of the witch" is the best cut, followed by "it takes a lot to laugh..." and "you don't love me" but I have heard better versions of those two.At the end is a brilliant record, one to be bought and listen everytime the radio dissapoints you

If you really wants the best album of Mike Bloomfield don’t go no further ! This is simply the best album he ever did especially in Albert’s shuffle his playing is so tasty ! He ’s as good as Mick Taylor from the Rolling stones on this album ( i also suggest his work on east west from the butterfield blues band were he’s excellent !). But what prevent him to become as good as Mick Taylor is his Heroin addiction. He’s only playing on 5/9 songs here as he wasn’t there the second day they did the recording ( he wasn’t in good shape physically). Stephen Still plays on the 4 other songs on this albums. The 4 extra songs are excellent !If you really want his best albums buy this and if you want more buy east west !
