Suburban's 6 Gallon Advantage RV Water Heaters replace aluminum tank water heaters. Constructed with porcelain lined steel tank. Built just like longer lasting residential tank water heaters. Anode rod protects against tank corrosion and doubles as a drain. Take advantage of campsite or generator power to heat water with the optional Incoloy Electric Element tank accessory. Industry exclusive flue tube slows combustion process to transfer more heat to water in tank. For most aluminum tank “DE” model replacements utilizing an indoor mounted switch for LP gas ignition and electric element operation, the SAW6DEL Advantage Water Heater is the direct replacement model. Gas appliances should be installed and/or serviced by a qualified service technician. Backed by a 2 year limited warranty and the tank is backed by a 3 year tank limited warranty.

The Suburban SAW6DEL was the perfect replacement for the no longer available Atwood GC6AA-10E (Gas/Electric) 6 gallon water heater, for my 2014 Jayco Whitehawk 23BH. Door from hold water heater fit perfectly. Mounting holes and water supply lines lined up too. No modifications needed. You do not need to replace the power switches that are often recommended (or "required"). I used the existing gas and electric switches. If you have basic wiring skills, you should have no problems.

Bought the wrong one, but they replaced with no issue. Great to work with!

Atwood aluminum tank split. Probably could of replaced tank but prefer the heavy steel tank. Rather have a pipe bust than the tank. Cut Connector off Atwood and reused it. Reused hot and cold pex connections. They screwed right in with new Teflon tape. Works great, had hot water in minutes.

This arrived in the factory box but was not packed well enough for shipping. There should be an insert in the front to protect the sheet metal when the water heater is inevitably dropped while bouncing around from warehouse to truck. Because I was on a tight schedule I straightened the bent sheet metal and installed it. The inlet and outlet apparently are not tapered threads so it took quite a bit of Teflon tape to seal them. On the positive side, my old Dometic door works fine on the new one and the heater heats like it should. The colors of the wires are not the same as my Dometic heater that I was replacing but I had the old manual so it wasn't hard to figure out.

Installation went well considering the tight space that I had to work in. My complaint is that the product description on line didn’t make clear that the old door from my existing heater would fit so I ordered a new door that I didn’t need. Hopefully I can return it for a full refund 🤞🤞
