This is an 8 channel RC simulator controller. The kit includes instructions, thumb knobs, and a USB-c cable. There isn't any demo software or even a link to find demo software. They only give directions for setup on DRL which is ok, but there are several free and demo apps out. The controller is small, slightly chunkier than a switch pro controller. The gimbals are smooth, and the throttle is notchless. There are 2) 2 position switches and 2) 3 position switches. All switches are nice, and the controller is ok... except for the small gimbals. They only have about 2 inches of throw and have a lot of spring tension. It's also USB only so you'll need that cable, even for phones. This would be great for someone who just wants to keep a controller in their backpack. It would make a good mobile controller, and a universal phone mount should work on it.

Before I buy a real FPV drone, I bought a StartRC simulator which is basically same as a real FPV! So cool and easy to fly and worry free if you crash! Nice investment to make some practice!

I have years of experience building and flying drones of all types. Having mentioned that, I have not flown in 5 years. So, rather than wreck the props, motors or worse on my expensive equipment, I bought this.Primary Info:- 8 Channels, will handle any flight sim pretty much- 2x Two position switches. 2x Three position switches. Two Levers (Joysticks). No knobs- Can operate in either Left or Right hand throttle modes> It has no battery (doesn't need one). That said, this device will not control an actual, real drone model.> The knobs and gimbals are fine quality and simulate a real transmitter very well.> The device will work with many platforms (PC (Windows, Linux) , Smartphones (using OTG adapter), on Android or IOS). Note: It is not supported on MacOS or Unix yet.> Brief leaflet provides some configuration tips for when using some popular drone simulator software.> The controller is immediately recognized by Windows OS when plugged in using provided USB-A to USB-C cable.Additional Info:You will need software in order to fly. These are available on Steam or can be d/l directly via PC, Smartphone, etc from the websites. Visit Oscar Liang's website and look up March 2025 "The Best FPV Drone Simulators". This will give you pricing on many software packages (usually between $10.00 - $20.00). FPV SkyDive software can also be obtained for free.My recommended packages are: LiftOff, VelociDrone, DRL, and TRYP FPV. This ranking is mostly based on how realistic the software is, how tune-able it can be, the variety of models, and how bug free it is. My experience will tell you that no matter which FPV Drone software you choose, it will most often not be a great match for a real life drone. This is mostly because every drone (self built or store bought) each has it's own flight characteristics, tuning, equipment and specialty. That said, crashing a real drone is expensive. Which is what makes this nice package so approachable. You can practice as much as you want with all kinds of physics, models, tuning, environments, etc. You can fly Line of Sight, Headless mode, or FPV mode. This is a great little package that works perfectly in my experience (with it today). It is great practice before purchasing your first trainer drone.I highly recommend it.

As an FPV Drone Pilot I've been building, flying and punching holes in the sky since circa 2016. There honesty weren't any FPV Sims until Freerider. (Cough not good) but now there are at least 2 handful of really good Sims, with really good physics models. Build, crash, repeat. That's how I learned. Expensive and time consuming. I digress, point is this is hands down the BEST way to get into the hobby. I use to suggest to someone looking to get in but wasn't sure was to buy the radio first and play some Sims. If you like it then cool great next up quad and fpv gear. If you didn't like it then the option was well radios hold there value pretty good and you can probably sell that $300.00 radio for almost what you paid for it. Other option Xbox controller...BIG NO! What a bad first impression folks that don't know how an FPV quad is controlled vs a cinematic DJI style drone. Look I still have my Frsky Taranis and my daily driver radiomasters TX16S and I still don't play Sims as much as I'd like too. Why? I'm lazy and don't always feel like pulling out the fpv bag, the radio case, protectors find a cable... even with an extra radio... it's fullsize takes a lot of space and not necessary. This controller is absolutely more than enough to rip FPV anytime. It's super light, but don't go comparing it with your radios and confuse light with build quality. It's a controller and honesty I can't believe I haven't see one of these a long time ago. If you rip some mini quads even if you own a radio or two this is absolutely worth the price for any!! Love it plug and play (not like the mapping headaches us old guys went through) I am already flying sim more. It's just ready to go whenever. More sim time better flights later. Good deal glad to have found it. Don't compare or to your 300.00 radio. It's a very specific tool and for the job it the right tool. More channels than you need.

This controller feels incredibly flimsy in my hand. It's also hollow in that you-can-play-percussions-with-it kind of way. There's also something loose and rattling inside, a hallmark sign of any device worth its salt /s. The left joystick arrived in a semi-broken state where it's functional but it perpetually drifts to the left. The spring tension is also busted and doesn't snap back to the center as it should. It also requires a USB cable to work on PCs or smart devices alike, which makes it feel like a decade-old technology in a space that's continuously evolving as we speak. To conclude, I just feel like there are better options, certainly at these prices. 2 out of 5 stars.
