Great and affordable harddrive. Many people favor sdds for their speed over HDDS, but I much prefer the longevity and reliability of an HDD. Works fine for my uses including gaming and photo editing.

Picked this up to replace a 320gb WD Blue for a friend. It's awesome value and a lot of space. It was super easy to switch over. Basically plug and play and the assign the drive. I paired it with a 120gb ssd for his operating system and main programs, then this for all his photos, documents, music and vids He takes photos everyday, and saves them. This should keep him going for a long time. I'm thinking about one for my gaming rig, but in the 2TB when then time comes. It doesnt come Ina retail box, just a brown, bon descript box, so if you're gifting it, just be aware, if you care. Still has a warranty and everything.

I will always recommend a SSD as a boot drive, but this HDD is fine for storage use. When on sale, the price is great and I don't think you'll go wrong with this or the competing WD 1TB HDD, when priced similarly. I should also add that I've experience no issues with reliability.

I got this large 6TB hard drive for 30% off, a great deal. Some bad reviews were posted be I purchased it anyway. Everything is fine with the drive so far, but it is just 3 days old. I will repost later if I experience any issues.

So a few notes about this drive before you buy.Pros:- Cost per TB is very good on this drive, especially when its on sale- It's very quiet, I don't really hear it (compared to the Toshibas anyways)- Scanned the entire drive, no bad sectors. I think seagate has probably fixed some of the QA issues from before (this is just a guess on my part though)Cons:- NOT for gaming. This is a storage device, and I docked stars just for the incorrect association with gaming- Not very good for constant read and writes, the average annualized workload is

The drive was installed into a 2009 iMac and works just great. Fresh install from Time Machine backup and was up and running in no time. Well actually it took about 24hrs to update but that's pretty normal.

Drive was easy to install and set up for operation. Would be a little slow for gaming but works just fine for photos and video storage.
