This is a great crash cymbal for a beginning jazz drummer. Jazz crash cymbals need to have a complex sound and make the "crash" sound at a low volume. This does what is needed. If you play too loud on it, it sounds "gong-y", but that's only when you're playing beyond the volume you should for jazz. It makes a fair sounding jazz ride as well.

Good value. Bit heavy, so sound isn’t as bright as AA or HH line, but good value for the money

This is a great budget cymbal! It has a great, solid sound. It is perfect for someone that wants a brighter, quick sound. Would highly recommend!!!

I wasn't expecting this to be top of the line. It sounds great in a recording on the YouTube videos, but in person it is very tinny sounding. I kind of feel the original b8 series is better than the b8x.
