These skates are beautiful but sadly my feet are too wide:( I really hope they can make these skates in a wider option! Sometimes medium narrow fits They arrived with the boot and blade attached and seem very sturdy!

These skates were a Xmas present for my daughter. She couldn’t wait to use them. When a young girl, she was a figure skater who wore Riedell skates. Now as an adult, she skates recreationally and finds these skates to be of exceptional quality.

I’m a beginner. The boots are true to size and comfortable immediately. I had to learn where to wear the laces tighter and looser for my feet but the interior of the boots are memory foam, so the more you wear them, the more they conform to your body. The suede material is color consistent and well built and sturdy. Obviously, the blades do not come sharpened. They’re so cute and comfy that they’re worth every penny. I love them.

Can't say enough good things about these skates. They are beautiful and quality skates. They have been used for figure skating lessons and even worked well on the treacherous ice at Rockefellar Center in NYC.

I took figure skating lessons as a girl, and I love to skate. I know have a girl, and she really wants me to take her skating. My whole adult life I just used thrift store skates, but my feet would cramp so bad withing 5 min of skating...I'd have to take them off. My girl was missing out in having her mom skate with her.I decided I'd actually spend a bit of money to get decent skates, in hopes of spending some quality time with my girl.I recieved them sat, they are such beautiful skates, real suede,,,but the hugest difference is,,,,,I can ACTUALLY skate now. I'm so impressed. You won't go wrong with these beautiful skates.PS,, I'm a mountain girl, so I adore the cider style, I'm not a pink or purple girl, so I adore these suede with plaid. Got so many compliments also

UPDATE (11/29): Riedell contacted me through Amazon and they are sending me a new pair (from their warehouse). They said that they are also going to work with Amazon, as some skates made it to Amazon's warehouses without blades. I see that someone got a different size than I did that not have blades, so there must have been a recent bad shipment. I am very impressed with their kindness and quick responses to my messages. They do seem like they have the customer's best interests at heart. I am looking forward to my new skates!I am increasing the overall rating because of the excellent customer service I received. There were a few other comfort-related cons based on my initial try-on, so I'm increasing it to 4/5 stars. Thanks, Riedell!--------------------------------ORIGINAL REVIEW:I ordered these because my old Riedell semi-pro boots and blades are way more than I need now that I'm only doing recreational skating. After the Embers showed up in my Facebook feed 500 times, I gave in and ordered a pair.First, the pros. These are really cute skates and they live up to all their social media glory. They're *beautiful.* I ordered Blush and almost want to order Cider just to see them. The fit is as expected, and at the outset, they have a really firm boot with good ankle support. (I can't speak to how they hold up/break in over time.)The cons:THEY DID NOT INCLUDE BLADES. The description and even the hang tag on the skate boot indicates that they come with blades. Other peoples' reviews indicate that they come with blades. The Riedell website indicates that they come with blades.Mine did not.I sent them back - oops, this must have been a QC SNAFU - and ordered a replacement pair.As soon as I picked that box up, I knew that pair didn't have blades either. The box was too light. And sure enough, the skates did not have blades. Again. So back they go. They are beautiful, yes. But I'm not going to keep ordering Riedell's reject skates without blades from Amazon. I'll pull out my old semi-pros, or I'll order direct from Riedell. For almost $200 after tax, I expect these skates to be perfect. But they're just pretty, heavy, expensive boots.A couple other cons: the material on the tongue is very rubbery, so it grips your foot in an uncomfortable way. The collar isn't nearly as padded as it looks, so I can see it being uncomfortable and diggy until the boots are broken in (at best), or just uncomfortable forever (at worst). Finally, these only have one pair of hooks on the ankle. This is definitely a personal preference thing, but I like to lace to my ankle and then cross the laces up using hooks. With these you have to lace almost all the way up. Without a skate lace key, it's difficult to pull these laces taut, so they end up feeling too loose over the ankle.Sizing: I'm a women's street size 8. I ordered 8s in these based on the length of my foot when measured, but I think a 7 would have been sufficient.
