I have a 2017 Spyder RTL with the problem of the lid not closing. I used this shock as a replacement and now the lid works. My only gripe is while this part is specified for the 2010-2018 RT Spyders there are no specific instructions included on how to replace the old shock with the new shock. I did find instructions on YouTube that worked. I was surprised that I needed to remove the passenger backrest for the replacement but the steps were still easy enough.

We installed this in my 2028 Spyder RTL in the trunk on the opposite side of the original hinge support to give it stronger support. We added on the luggage rack tot he top of my trunk which makes the trunk not stay up on it's own due to the weight. Now, with this added hinge my trunk does not fall down.

Seems to be better quality and it performs better that the original stock one that cam on my Can Am spyder rt. Especially for the price.
