I've used this item for several years now, I love the level of safety it provides and peace of mind. It's also great if you have kids that are able to open the door and great for doors that have access to pools if you have young kids

Noticed other brands “broke” and became hard to open after a short time. Hard to believe since this is a simple mechanism. Anyway bought these because there has been no issues like that reported on this brand (which is what sells for more in big box stores).Gave a lower rating for install, but there’s not much that can be done. It’s not a design or manufacturing flaw. You have to chisel out a bit of door frame and fiddle a little to get it to function right. Can’t really be helped. Not the products fault. So to install u need to be a little handy and a little patient.Other reviews mentioned the quality of the screws. This is true. I was able to get them to work by pre-drilling, but still, one star off for something so easy to fix. Include better screws please.Will change review if they suddenly become hard to unlatch.

My wife has been getting a littler paranoid about adding more security to our doors, she use to lean a chair on our back patio door for more security so I decided to install a new lock, after looking for a while see the style that was not bulky and simple to install so orders 2 for front and back door. I tested them and they secure the door firmly so no more dragging a chair to lean against it. You can even lock it during the day as well. Most importantly I found them cheaper looking at returned items and paid 60% of what a new one will have cost. They are working great and will recommend anyone to install them.
