As others have stated, it jams locked after several operations. I removed it, oiled it and tried again. Same.This is exactly the same product I tried from Rona+ . Tried two of them from Rona with the same result - jambs up.This product should be taken off the market as it is 100% defective and could cause someone to get locked in or out of a room with no way to unlock - unless you happen to have a philips screwdriver with you to remove it!

Although well built and would probably work for most other sliding doors and windows, unfortunately, this did not work for me.

i installed myself using a drill gun to make a small hole where the lock latches on to lock door. Pretty easy for a person ( female)with little skill. Works great and has been in working order for a few years now. The sliding glass door wont budge when locked. But i have to say it does wiggle, the lock itself. And it does take a little effort to pull the lever down sometimes. The lock is made of metal, and feels pretty solid. But whats really solid is the way it makes me feel when knowing that its not going to be easy to break open our sliding glass door. I tried really hard to open the door one night when i was supposedly accidentally locked out by my rude sister. I was cursing the lock as i was slaming my shoulder, trying to loosen the door. Our pole popped out of the door but there was no way i could get that door to budge! So feel safe and get this cheap , but effective lock. i installed mine on the bottom of door. But im thinking of installing one on the top of door so my Mom wont have to bend down to open up lock

Doesn't feel the most sturdy but it at least works and keeps the slider from being able to jiggle when closed.

Latch stuck shut after 5 uses. Got trapped in the bathroom. Good thing I still had my screwdriver.

I’ve used this same unit on 3 different doors in the last 25 years. The 1st one was extremely durable, you could feel it in the weight and is still in use today. The 2nd one was 10 years ago, about half the weight of the first and has finally given out. The 3rd one is about half the weight again and I am expecting to replace it within the year…I have both sold and used prime line products for the last 25 years. I am sad to say, the quality has declined drastically over the years.

Not exactly simple to install, finding a spot that it works was challenging. Also it sticks when unlocking some times. The other issue is that the bolt sticks out a little even when unlocked, which is why it was a challenge to mount.
