When the normal door strike plate no longer works, this is a great solution: a bit longer and suitable for traditional knob hardware.

We have had issues closing our walk-in closet door for years, so I finally got fed up and took the standard strike plate off to move it down a bit, but it didn't cover the existing hole. This plate is solidly made and large enough to cover any miscalculations builders make when installing strike plates.

Good enough, and cheap. Nickel plating layer is not too thick, but should be good enough. Will work fine for a standard door latch.I used it over a deadbolt catch, so some light filing with a half round was required to make the opening receive the bolt. Had some existing damage from the bolt hitting the moulding of the door frame. This works well to cover the existing cosmetic damage/repair and prevent future damage. The screw holes are far out from existing plate holes. The included screws are not terribly long, and will just go into the moulding. Best to pick up some 3 inch screws to hit the stud as well for added security.

Solid, nice finish. But the photo shows a rectangular hole which appears to be bigger than a normal sized hole. That is not the case. This one actually has a regular sized hole that is rounded in the back of the hole. Otherwise it was good.
