I've had this lamp for 4 years. It's on for at least 12 hours a day 365 days a year. One of the bulbs just now quit working. So the claims of 10,000 hours are no exaggeration because I just got about 17,000 hours from that one bulb! There's not one thing wrong with this lamp. It's very flexible and the light it emits is very easy on the eyes. And it's cheaper now than it was 4 years ago! And replacement bulbs are on sale right now so it's a win-win for me!

love the brightness, i always use the highest level. really don't use the low levels as i bought it for crafting. easy to assemble. i hope the bulbs last for a long long time as this was a fairly expensive lamp.

I saw another Amazon review for this lamp, and after many weeks of researching floor lamps I finally went with this one. A bit pricier than most floor lamps but it was well worth it. Very easy to assemble, the instructions are very simple. There are two bulbs and you can choose to turn one or both on. It is perfect for my home office, plenty of light, SUPER bright and easy on my eyes. Perfect height for my desk as well. I am very impressed with the quality.

We are very pleased with this lamp. It is just the right height for reading. The reason for only 4 stars is that the off on switch is very flimsy made. So it doesn’t break my husband unplugs it when not in use as he fears it will break at some time. Otherwise a very good purchase, a snap to assemble.

The package was shipped from amazon fast but unfortunately the one light bulb didnt work but contacted Ottlight customer service and they immediately shipped out a replacement with no hassle whatsoever. When we plugged in the replacement bulb the light itself sparked and stopped working and the customer service was so apologetic and easy to work with that were getting a replacement shipped out asap. Great company that works hard to keep their customers happy - this is our second light and they work GREAT. The product itself is bright, illuminates my wifes crafting area well - and is a great purchase for her craft room.

Love my new Ott Light in fact am waiting for the second one to arrive. My new craftroom does not have overhead lighting and is too expensive to install. My new Ott light sits centre on my craft table, but have decided one at each end will be perfect and also handy for my second table in the corner. It has 3 light levels and is easy to move, although the base weighs quite a bit you wouldn't want to drop it on your foot. This light should be an obvious choice for crafters and it is well priced too.

I was looking for a bright lamp to put over my left shoulder and aim it at my SEWING machine bed. The heavy base (not too big) and 3 brightness settings make it ideal for this use. I would recommend this lamp to anybody who needs extra lighting for fine detail work. Thank you, tattoo artist who left a previous positive review, because it is what made me buy this excellent product.

I purchased this lamp from amazon 3 months ago. I really like it, and it has great light for my paintings - exactly what I need. BUT...I thought something was wrong with it because it buzzes, and every few minutes makes a popping noise. I was very alarmed at first, and then someone told me it sounded like the plastic was contracting and expanding, hence he popping noises. I had e-mailed Ottlite customer service, and I was really hoping they would tell me it was just a bad light bulb and that they would send me a new one, but the woman said to cut the cable on the lamp at the base and send her a picture of it, so I thought something must really be wrong with it. The last thing i want to do is start a fire in my apartment! I cut the cable and sent her a picture of the cut cable, and she sent me out a new light. I received a new lamp within a week, and guess what. The new one does the EXACT same thing. I'm not sure what irritates me more....destroying what was "supposedly" a perfectly good lamp, or that Ottlite customer service doesn't know about these issues!Also, on my new lamp, the hold drilled for the screw at the base is too small so the screw does not fit and the lamp is merely sitting on the base....not attached to it. Not a big deal, I don't plan on moving it around, but Ottlite for the amount of money this lamp costs, where is the quality control??The other thing I don't like is the on off button. It feels pretty cheap, and I think either a toggle switch or one of those circular switches would have been better. Overall I'm disappointed. What a hassle.

I own a standing Ott light and have been looking for a second one for the family room. This one fits the bill! It's a great height and the light pivots very easily. You have the option to turn on one or both bulbs. I'm using this to cross stitch and bright light is key. I can easily see what I'm doing with both lights on. This is a 10 star purchase for anyone looking for a good light for any type of craft. Regarding some of the other reviewers mentioning a 'buzzing', I have faintly heard 'something' but it's not really that noticeable, especially if you're watching television while stitching. I also didn't have any trouble getting either of the bulbs in. All in all this was a great purchase with an excellent price and I would highly recommend the item.1/3/19 update to review - I've been using this lamp almost daily for over a month now and I'm still giving it a 5 (10)star review. Yes, I hear the buzzing - it's very minor and not that irritating (in my opinion). This light is BRIGHT and I can see clearly to cross stitch. I love it so much I just ordered a second one so I can stitch in two different rooms. I have a 22 watt ott light and an 18 watt ott light that I've been using together to see to stitch in my upstairs living room. This 36 watt light is so much brighter than the two of them put together. I still definitely recommend this light for all crafters. You won't be disappointed!
