If you are getting a security light for your 90's gm car then try replacing this ignition lock bc the wire may have been cut.Took about 10 minutes to actually install once the steering column was taken apart. BUT i would recommend getting a new chip key so you can start the car. The key that comes with the car wont start it if you have a vats system

This fit my 02 trans am great you still have to get the right key blank with the resistor in it from the chevy dealership and have it cut to the new key templates that comes with the new cylinder works perfectly
