This could just be user error on my part, as my garage door opener is old and always given me issues trying to program buttons. The setup was fairly straightforward on the part of the buttons here, at least after a couple of attempts. But the result, maybe due to a weak signal, or just being too close when I programmed it, is pretty underwhelming. It pretty consistently takes much longer than I'd like to get the garage to start opening. My previous car had Homelink and 90% of the time it just took a single quick press to get the job done, but this fob needs to be held for several seconds, only to get a response about half of the time.I'm glad it works, because I wasn't even sure my opener was the right type. I still can't find any info about the model number online to figure out what kind of system it's using to communicate with the fob, so just getting it to respond was a nice surprise. If I find I've done something wrong in the setup and manage to get it working better I will update the review with my findings, but at least so far, it doesn't inspire confidence.

I needed a garage door remote replacement after my existing remote had the battery cover fall off and stopped working so well. This garage door opener remote replacement works well for my Genie system, but the instructions were very confusing.As for pros, it's sleek, strong, compact, and comes with a handy clip to attach to your sun visor. I really appreciate how the manufacturers included a battery so I did not have to purchase one before I could use it. I got the remote programmed on the second or third try. I have a Genie brand garage door system, and this works well.In terms of cons, the instructions were very confusing. The instructions were for a different type of remote, one with round and square horizontal buttons and a program feature. This is a vertical remote with no separate program button. It took me a few tries to adapt the instructions to the correct remote, which was annoying. I also can't comment on the long-term durability of this unit.

This nearly universal remote works perfectly and is super easy to configure. My only problem was that my Genie motor learn button is hard to find. A quick search and once I found it, the remote was programmed in 30:seconds. Clear precise instructions.

I wasn't sure if this would work on my model.I moved in to a rental that has a genie garage door opener but the model is "model 2028"I couldn't find any other info on the model but i went with this one anyways bc its such a cheap price that i wouldnt be losing much if it didnt workwell. IT DOES WORK. it was faily easy to connect. The top button opens and closes the door. I'm still having trouble setting and connecting the other buttons but so far it opens and closes which is all that matters to me. It may be a user error and thats why the other 2 buttons arent working but i assure you IT WILL connect and IT WILL work.I opened the garage from about 5 houses away and it still read it and opened! I was so surprised!With that said, It more than works and ESPECIALLY for the price. Try it out even if its not the same model, it may still work bc it worked for me
