Don’t waste your money with this trash. I found the loosing problem in the first trial. You will find you cannot exactly sure if the valve was closed or not. I returned them after the first trial in field job. Pay a little bit more for those famous brands. You won’t be disappointed.

I used these for the first time this week to reduce blow back while recharging an AC condenser. They were leak free and performed as expected. The two to a package is a bit odd given that you’ll probably need three of them to use them with a manifold gauge set. I happened to have a Yellow Jacket compact ball valve which allowed me to compare them against. While these are decent, don’t expect Yellow Jacket quality. The YJ ball valve is smooth and requires little effort to open and close. These, by comparison, are pretty stiff and feel a bit “notchy”. The knurled fittings are also much smaller diameter making them a bit awkward to tighten/loosen while wearing gloves. The handles on one of the valves had an odd cant to it—I couldn’t tell if it was the ball stem that was bent or if the valve was machined in such a way that the stem wasn’t perpendicular to the valve body. Regardless, of what the cause was, it wasn’t confidence inspiring. From a cost perspective, the Yellow Jacket 93843 compact ball valves cost approx. $30 each. Overall, these appear reasonably well made for their $15 for two pricing. But I’m always nervous about trying to save a buck on something that could result in significant cost if it were to unexpectedly fail. I’m still on the fence with these but if you can’t afford pro grade equipment these might be a viable alternative.

I use these on my charging hose to weigh in Freon. The handle is a bit small but chose these over ones with a plastic handle.

I used it for a few hours today. I guess time will tell if it holds up, but so far they are tight and don't leak.
